Can anyone access the Nat online banking site? For almost 48 hours all I have been getting is:
"We're sorry Nationwide's Internet Banking website is currently unavailable - normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause."0 -
Just received this from the Nat:
Thank you for your message.
I'm sorry to hear that you have been unable to access your online banking.
I confirm that we are currently experiencing problems with customers using the Firefox browser. You may wish to switch your browser to Internet Explorer 7, 8 or 9.
Information about the specific browsers we support can be found by using the following link:

and I can indeed access online banking with IE.

Like others in this endless thread, I had been using the MT2OFX converter program until it was broken by NWBS so I gave up for a few months. I was on NWBS today and noticed on my Flexaccount the Download Transactions offered OFX format so I tried it an BOOM it worked! I then got carried away with excitement and tried to download my VISA card transactions. The download worked and MS Money 99 imported them OK but, AARGH! loaded them into my current account. I couldn't figure out any way in MS Money to move transactions between accounts so I had to delete 4 months worth!
Presumably the OFX file is not matching the account name properly. Anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it?
Thanks for any hints.

Having been using the updated MT2OFX to create CSV files, I now have a new laptop with Windows 7, and found that my Money 2004 would not install.
No problems, I found a Money 5 version to download and install, and yes, it does import OFX downloads OK, BUT it is giving me duplicates, which makes it almost unusable - unless these disappear with time?
Could be the IDs are not matching the previous ones from CSV files?
As I have 3 laptops with different Windows versions, I dont want to upgrade all of them to Money 5 unless it works OK - as it seems a one way move with a new .mny format.
(I Suppose I can still use MT2OFX with Money 5?)0 -
Thought I might find some of you here again!
It looks as though the developer of mt2ofx maybe no longer supports or enhances it. There has been a message about the Nationwide changes on the mt2ofx forum for the past few days with no response from the author, or responses to any older posts about other issues either.
Yes, Nationwide have slightly modified the CSV download format, making the current scripts incompatible. I've worked out what the changes are and have now modified the scripts I've been using up until recently to make them work again. They are available here

There are three scripts, and between them they will handle Flexaccount, e-Savings, InvestDirect, ISA and Credit card. Just download them to your Program Files/mt2ofx folder and then use the mt2ofx script options to enable them. If they don't appear in the list you'll need to go 'New', navigate to the file and select it. It will appear at the top of the list with a blank name, but then just press 'Update' to make it appear properly.
You'll need to do a little bit of configuration inside the scripts before using them. In the 'Multi' (which handles Flexaccount, e-Savings and ISA) and InvestDirect files you need to replace 'xxxxxxxx' (search for it) with your own 8-digit account numbers (14 digits for ISA including a '/'). Actually I think you can use any account numbers you like so long as something exists in the script and that number in the script exactly matches the one defined in Account setup in Money. In that way the data should import no problem.
In the Credit card (CC) one you need to go near to the end of the file and replace '48939' with the first 5 digits of your Nationwide credit card. You'll most likely need to change it to '44935' since many Nationwide credit cards start with that, however I've just been given a newer style one with a different starting number. Then make sure that you enter your full credit card number within the Scripts - Parameters for this file within mt2ofx. Credit card for some reason imports with Money asking you which account you want to import into. Not yet sure why because it never did before and the script hasn't changed that much, but not really a problem.
All's working as good as it ever did for me, hope it does for you too. Still lament the loss of direct import from within Money itself though!
Hi rpb424, I wanted to thank you for your helpful advice and information. Unfortunately it seems that the link you had isn't working. I just installed the 2002 version of Money onto my work laptop, but need to change the MT2OFX scripts. Would you have copies of these scripts anywhere so I could use them on this laptop.
Thanks, Jaimin0 -
Jaimin,
This link works:

Guys, thanks for your help. I finally decided to download the 2005 version that was posted on here. It works really well and it's a lot easier to use my Nationwide downloads directly, but the only problem is there is one credit card account that I used to copy and paste the data from the website onto my Nationwide csv template. However, this doesn't seem to work with the new version. Have I shot myself in the foot by upgrading?
The process I have is this:
1 - I copy the table from the website using Table2clipboard
2 - Then I paste the data on top of a Nationwide csv file
3 - I clean it up and rearrange the data to follow the Nationwide design
4 - I use MT2OFX to convert it and bring it into Money
Obviously this used to work with my older version, but now the new version works with the Nationwide OFX files, I haven't really needed it until I realised I needed to use it to import two of my credit cards' data).
Any help would be much appreciated as I think I need to start simplifying my life a little.
Thanks, Jaimin0 -
I found a program that converts the new Nationwide CSV files to OFX (in most cases the new OFX statements are broken!) It is not related to Nationwide at all but does a good job. Do a google search for iCreateOFX Nationwide OFX Converter0
