    Hi rpb424

Thanks for all the work you have put into this fix but unfortunately I am still receiving the below error when converting the CSV to OFX :

Error 9 (0x9): Subscript out of range: '[number:1]'
    At line 466 col 4
    In module Nationwide-CSV_multi_account
    Last function was LoadTextFile

I have followed what you have said and put several different combinations in of my account number but has had no affect and receive this error everytime.

    Can you help at all.

    Thanks in advance
    Hi rpb424

I have been using MT2OFX for the last few years since Nationwide removed the direct support for MS Money. Since their new site update I have also been scrambling to get CSV statement downloads to work. I have just found you posts from November today and have got the credit card script to work but am receiving errors with the "Nationwide-CSV_multi_account2.vbs".

    The error message is

Error 500 (0x1F4): Variable is undefined: 'MapAccount'
    At line 498 col 1
    In module Nationwide-CSV_multi_account2
    Last function was LoadTextFile

(I did this twice today and redownloaded the script hence the version number 2)

    Hope you can help.
    Thanks in advance

    Glenn
  • I havent been able to get rpb424's suggested method to work. The CSV file I download from Nationwide has the last 5 numbers of my account number preceded by 5*s. I have tried various permutations for changing this e.g. changing to my account number preceded by one *, just changing to my account number, not changing anything etc. All give an error message when I go into MT2OFX and try to convert the downloaded file. I have noticed that when I copy my downloaded file into the MT2OFX directory it has a CSV extension whereas the other files already in there have VbS - is this a problem? I presume that when I convert in MT2OFX it's the downloaded file without any editing that I convert and the editing is just on the file copied into the MT2OFX directory? Any help gratefully received.
  • Correction to above post - the csv file had last 5 numbers of my account number preceded by 4 *s. Too late to count!
  • hi rpb424

Very sorry but I was doing something really dumb....copying the downloaded csv file to the mt20FX folder instead of your script! Only noticed the link to your script today on page 7. Everything is now working. Thank you so much for all the help you've given so many people.

Think I have it! I had renamed my flexaccount to 'Current' on the website (ages ago). When I went into the script and replaced "FlexAccount" with "Current" everything started working again. I renamed it because I have two flex accounts and needed to distinguish between them. They are now named "Current" and "Joint" so I edited the script to add the second "Joint" account with the correct account number and that works too.

Maybe techno79 has renamed his account too?

Many thanks to RPB424 for the script. When I saw the ofx option on the new website I had thought that finally Nationwide had sorted things out. I should have known they would balls it up and leave it for one of their customers with obviously far more brains than they can manage between them to sort it out.
Woffle99, on rereading these posts (setting up a new installation on a laptop) I realised that I had not thanked you for the comments about renamed accounts. I, too, had renamed our current account which is why after following RPB424's instructions I was having problems. All well now.

    Thanks to both of you!
  • Following further correspondence with Nationwide, am pleased to report that the NW OFX download now contains a unique and stable FITID, so that you do not get duplicate transactions when you import the OFX directly.

There is still a minor problem in that the NAME field does not get filled properly when it is handling some direct transfers (e.g. BACS bill payments, and standing orders). The transaction itself is OK, but the payee name is not propery completed. This has been notified to Nationwide and we hope that they can get this last little detail filled in.

However, the key point is that AT LAST you can now import the NW OFX download directly into Money 2005 and it works reliably !! It has taken them several years to realise that their original withdrawal of the OFX download was wrong, but they got there eventually!

You should send a message to Nationwide informing of this. May fob you off with some BS reply but hopefully, they'll also forward the message internally to the relevant team who may actually resolve the issue. In the mean time, maybe the best work around is to use a custom date range for showing only those transactions in Nationwide online banking that need to be downloaded? This is what I do by default.

Finally! Though their problems made me switch to using First Direct's online management software and now I find it a lot easier than MS Money.

I never really came across the problem with having duplicate transactions as I always made sure I used specific dates to avoid downloading duplicates but knowing that it is handled properly is a good comfort factor.

Yes, I also noticed that BACS transfer do not show the name in the description. I believe this is because they use the type of transaction to indicate who the BACS is for. I have only a handful of BACS every month so I've just copied and pasted the description from their website but would be lovely if it just all worked. Thanks for your and everyone else's efforts in getting NW to sort this out.

I have not been able to access the Nat's internet banking site for 24 hours. Anyone else having this problem?
  • Further to my previous post re the correspondence with Nationwide which had resulted in them getting a unique and stable FITID for all OFX downloads, I have been in further contact with NW and they have this morning completed the NAME field in the BACS and other XFERS. So ALL IS WORKING AT LAST !!!
