  • I don`t know about the marks catz747, sounds like a chemical reaction as you said. I use 2 soup spoons of washing soda in my machine and 1 cap of ecover liquid. I also wash the towels at 60 because of bug-killing etc. The towels are dried indoors on airers and are always very soft as well as clean

The ecover liquid lasts for ages when used with soda

Why don't you contact ecover and ask? It can't hurt and you might even get some vouchers if you ask nicely :)

Hey! Great Idea, I think I have discovered partially the cause, it only happens to towels so it must be my shampoo or shower gel. It also happened to a pair of socks that I had walked over my freshly disinfectant mopped floor - the white socks went black but when washed again were fine!

Will let you know what happens when I email them.

 What do you do to get the laundry to smell nice, say if I was to use ecover powder and vinegar to fabric condition?
  • a few drops of an essential oil should do the trick ;)

Well, ecover got back to me, they said they hadn't heard of my problem before and recommended that I soak my towels before washing in ecover to get rid of shampoo traces etc. Oh Well never mind :)

I been using Ecover for a while now , im using the Biological tablets at the moment ....whats the difference between the Tablets and liquid?

Also can you just put the tablets inside the drum to save the draw getting dirty?

I do like Ecover but it does not do a very good job of my whites ....i just had to wash some towels & T-shirts again and put another 2 tablets in

It says on box can be used on whites so what am i doing wrong?

I am now adding whiting packs to my wash and this totally defeats the purpose of using Ecover :/
