Would somewhere like Makro do bulk eco items?

Infinity Wholefoods - wholesale ( - probably only worth doing if there are various people ordering at the same time) - do 10kg boxes for £16 plus VAT. They also sell 4x1.2kg boxes for £11.40. I have never seen the large 10kg boxes anywhere otherwise would buy even if slightly more.

www.infinityfoods.co.uk - click on wholesale - catalogue needs to be downloaded. Minimum order is £150 in some areas closish to shop - or £250 throughout London or Thames Valley/Chilterns. Much higher for other areas - check the T&C section of their website.

They are in Brighton. I should imagine that Unicorn in Manchester does the large packs at a fairly competative retail price for anyone in that area.

Goodness direct has the 10kg for £22 plus VAt ie £27 - still a lot cheaper than buying small boxes. www.goodnessdirect.co.uk - free delivery for orders over £35 online

I have not seen the large sizes in Makro or costco.

I can buy bio d from my local organic supermarket Out of This World, branches in Newcastle,Leeds and Beeston (Nottingham). Have you tried requesting it from your local HF shop, they will some times put a special order if you want to buy a lot.
    Failing that ..

I phoned Ecover the other day and asked if they had any trial samples so that I could try them out before I purchased the full size products. The very nice lady I spoke to said unfortunately they didn't but she is ending me out an info pack with some money off vouchers for full size products. It will arrive in 7 to 10 working days :T

I use Ecover regularly. Did you also know that the bottles are refillable? My local healthfood shop refills washing liquid, fabric softener and washing-up liquid. It doesn't save me a fortune because their prices tend to be a little higher than the supermarket but I have saved a few pennies and have that cosy feeling that comes from knowing I've saved a plastic bottle from being produced and supported my local healthfood shop.

Refills aren't widely available in Northern Ireland :(

I checked the website when I saw this.
  • Has anyone tried ecoballs in their washing machine yet? Am tempted, but don't necessarily want to fork out £35 if they're not going to work! Checked out the ethical worries about ecover, think I may change products now - thanks for those who flagged that up for me.

Have you read the Ecoball Thread?? It should give you an idea of what people think about the ecoball for laundry.

I have just registered in order to share this! I stopped using fabric conditioner altogether! Money saving or what! I have found there to be no difference at all, except the lack of flowery smell. I use ecover liquid, although I sometimes use the Co-op's own brand of non-bio. I wondered if fabric conditioner was, in fact a bit of a con?
