Ecover washing powder is on a special Try Me Free offer at the moment. (You need to buy specially marked packs with a label to send off for a full refund of the purchase price - up to £4.59.)

You need to look out for the Non Biological laundry powder 1.2kg. Purchase has to be made between 1 June 06 and 28 Feb 07. Need to send off the original receipt and state in at least 15 words why you are not satisfied. Also includes a coupon for 75p.

I have just registered in order to share this! I stopped using fabric conditioner altogether! Money saving or what! I have found there to be no difference at all, except the lack of flowery smell. I use ecover liquid, although I sometimes use the Co-op's own brand of non-bio. I wondered if fabric conditioner was, in fact a bit of a con?
I'm tempted to try this: http://www.vinegarbook.co.uk/Vinegar_works_great_as_a_fabric_softener.shtml
I'll do a controlled experiment on towels (can't do any harm). Watch this space!

A health food shop on the Lisburn Road does it.
It's called Eatwell Whole Foods, 413 Lisburn Road Belfast.

  • I am moving to Sussex in a few weeks, about ten miles north of Brighton (inland side of the Downs.)
If anyone has an Infinity Foods ordering group I could join, or would like to join me in forming a new group, please feel free to send me a pm.

I've only just seen this thread re: Ecover.
This non-bio powder was going through Tesco's tills mispriced - the shelf price stated £3.78, but they actually went through the tills at £4.39. By paying this amount and then reporting to Customer Services desk in Tesco, they gave you your £4.39 back and you kept the washing powder. The boxes had to be those with the pink 'Try Me Free' type sticker as the barcode was different to the other boxes of Ecover non-bio.
I know of people that then went on to send off their receipt showing £4.39 to Ecover and recovered a further £4.39 from them, under the 'Try Me Free' offer.
By the way, the 75p coupon inside these boxes actually scanned at 80p in Tesco.
If you can spot a shelf edge label in Tesco for £3.78 for this non-bio Ecover powder, and the boxes have the pink stickers on, then you are onto a winner! But alas these may be few and far between now, as this misprice was mentioned on the Tesco threads a few weeks ago.
  • Thanks,my local tesco have it to.

Hello Ecover fans, I've discovered Ecover laundry tablets and washing up liquid. I love the smell of the clothes :)

Anyway I have a question, after washing, my towels appear to have dark grey marks on them - as if dirty, they're the only thing affected by using ecover - does anyone know why it might be? I wondered about some sort of chemical reaction but it's odd it only happens to those towels?
  • Why don't you contact ecover and ask? It can't hurt and you might even get some vouchers if you ask nicely :)
