Possible Virus

my laptop seems to be running very slow lately. i have notice that on the desktop there is a folder called "jazz" that created and had some music in. But everytime time i delete it, it reappears?

I have run AVG Free, CCleaner, Spybot & windows defender and they are all clean.

any ideas?

One thing you could try: If you make changes you need to reboot. Have you tried this.

yup i have deleted the folder, rebooted and it reappears

Do you have some music software installed? That could be re-creating the folder.

no music software installed only WMP. when it recreates its self it is empty and marked read only.

Sounds like you have an ".exe" executible file running on your system somewhere. You need to get rid of that if you are to stop the reappearance.

Two options.

1. Do system wide search for "jazz" then see where the .exe file is launching from. If you know what you are doing go to the source of that file and delete it manually.

2. Go through all the steps in the first 4 posts to this thread.

It will clean your system of much malware lurking. See of that does the trick.

If, after all this, you are still stuck with it then scan your computer with HijackThis. The result will be a logfile. Copy and paste the contents of that logfile to this thread and someone will give you more specific advice.
