I was thinking of adding the extra 1gb of ram. Probably best to wait until the 3 month warranty is over? I'm guessing it will void the warranty if I add RAM now and also not to waste any cash incase it is a duff PC :o

    It's arrived!

An issue though. XP SP3 and critical updates have downloaded but not installed and no matter what I try from what I googled, nothing is helping, so I have IE 5? and Windows Media 9 and no critical updates.

    Any ideas anyone please? :o

    ETA - Sorted....for now :o

I think i've got everything on here now.

Firewall and Antivirus were the first things and lots of other software now on.

Keep thinking of things to add when I go around and it's not in it's 'usual place'.

It is alot quicker at the moment and compared to the old one, ever so quiet!
  • Just to point out something from one of your previous posts i'm surprised no-one else has -

You say you are going down from a 120 gig drive to a 80gig - its a very simple operation to add your old 120gig drive to your new machine as a second drive, so you can use it as a back up drive or store photos etc on there. Will at most cost the price of a couple of screws, possibly a new lead for a quid or two.

You can even get stuff off your old hard drive to your new one easily that way, and then wipe the old one and refill it.

Will I have a space for the other HD?

What if I take out the floppy drive? I did that on my last machine and had a second HD drive instead.

Will wait until 3 month warranty is up anyway.
