I'm not just going to get rid of him willy nilly though, I took him on intending to look after him for however long that would be, I WILL rehome him, IF he doesn't change, there is 2 litter trays out now, was only 1 before, We are going to stop leaving clothes with new/different smells around (the jacket had been at a house party with loads of different smells I presume, to what he's used too)
Time will tell, but if he had to go, would be to OH's parents house, he'd have fields to roam in and trees to climb, he seems the sort of cat that would prefer to be outside, where as my other one seems content with her lot.0 -
bm some cats are just born to be outside to burn of the enegry maybe hes just bored x
Still searching .....:)

Glam, please can I have your thoughts on English speaking parents sending children to welsh-medium schools?
Would be very interested if you didn't mind sharing
My parents are both English (from Coventry) but moved to Wales just before I was born - my Dad learnt Welsh because he was working a lot with farmers who didn't speak much English. I went to a Welsh primary school and was fluent in Welsh until I moved to England with my mum when I was 5 or 6 so lost the language.
My 2 sisters stayed with my Dad and so both went to Welsh medium schools (as they also spoke Welsh) - there was always 2 groups 'The Welsh, Welsh' and 'The English Welsh'. It was a bit clique as the Welsh kids always thought they were better than the English.
I moved back at age 11 and went to a more English school about 10 miles away, however all the school plays were in Welsh every year which was annoying cos I'm quite a good singer but never got the opportunity to take part. I was always looked down on whenever I visited the village where the Welsh school was because I was 'English' but a few words with my scary Essex accent soon shut them up! They all thought I was a hardnut - very funny as I'm 5 foot nothing and have never had a proper fight in my life!!
My little sister who is 9 goes to a welsh medium school and at that age I don't think it as much of a problem, I also think that times have changed a lot over the last 10-12 years so there isn't so much of a divide.
I would say that living in Cardiff things will be a lot different to my experience as I was in a very rural area in Pembrokeshire (imagine 3 miles to nearest bus stop!!) so I would say that to give Fergie the best start in life send him to a Welsh Medium school because he will be bi-lingual from an early age which will help him pick up other languages quickly (I got A's in Welsh and French at GSCE), being able to speak Welsh will be a major advantage when he comes to start work ( so long away!!!) and you and DH will also be able to learn with him.
One thing you will find is that as he grows up he will lapse in and out of both languages - I would point to something red and ask my sister what colour was it -
She would say 'Coch',
Me 'What is it in English?'
Sis 'Coch'
Me 'No in English'
Sis 'Coch'
Me 'It's red'
Sis 'That's what I said, Coch' :rotfl:
Hope that helps, kind of turned into a bit of my life storyA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Yeah he could be bored I guess, they have a cat climbing tower, and loads of toys, I just bought him new toys today actually and catnip
Plus he has the other cat for company, and they are always playing together, and I'm usually in the house, only time he isn't around me is at bedtime and that's because he attacks me in the night so no no. Just see how it goes! Once he gets older he'll mellow out (hopefully!)
I'm going to dry out baby wipes or tumble dryer sheets, and pour lemon juice on them, and then pop them in all our clothes drawers, that should stop any inclination of his to !!!! on easy access clothes as he HATES lemon.
I'm not sure if he sprayed or peed though? Do they smell different?! I could be totally wrong and it was the older cat, she used to !!!! in my tumble dryer when she was a kitten
Why do I get dysfunctional animals? Lol
On the good news, Keira is in her own bed tonight, she's almost asleep too, I bought her a peppa pig torch in town today so if she gets scared because it's dark she can turn it on. She thinks she's the bees knees!0 -
following what Skinty just asked - when should I stay putting Jack to bed properly?
At the moment he just stays downstairs with us until he has a feed anywhere between 10pm-1am and then I put him to bed and go myself - right now he is fast asleep on my legs. I think I'm a bit scared to let him sleep in a room when I'm not there
Gave him a bottle with the new milk and he drank every drop so I'm hoping this continues!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Glam, with both my kids I put them to bed on their own before me when they were having a bottle between 9 and 10 and eventually they just sleep through. I now have Dylan going up at 8.30 and by the time I go back to work in Feb, I hope it will be about 7.30 / 8pm as he will then be up in time to see me before I leave the house !The two best things I have done with my life

Andrew's oxygen requirement is still down, now at 0.03 litre - perhaps he doesn't want to come home on oxygen either

We aim for her to be sleep by 7.30pm but is that too late? She tends to wake between 7and 8 am so I don;t want her up any earlier! She sleeps around 3 hours in the day in about 5 naps - can;t get her to put them together sadly, but that my come in time I guess.
I don't think that it matters too much at this age. I've been more guided by how LO is sleeping. We have her at between 10-12 hrs at night these days, and that's roughly 7-7 (although often 7.30-6.30am). However before she started sleeping really well, we would let her stay up a bit later so she'd not wake soooo early in the morning (4am was a favourtie for a while:eek:). I am more opinionated on toddlers bedtimes:D

:rotfl:we have gaelic medium schools here in Scotland, but think it's a bit different as Welsh as a language is embraced and used outwith the school. Here gaelic is only used in the specialist medium schools - even education on the outer hebrides is in English. I know a tiny bit, but not much and would feel I'd have to learn it if my child was learning it. that feels like a lot of hard work to me, as we don't live in the outer hebrides!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

There are quite a few Irish speaking schools close to the border, but absolutely none where I am. The catholic secondary and grammer schools teach it though, whereas I did french, spanish and latin !!The two best things I have done with my life
