but you can't live with a cat peeing/pooing everywhere etc with a child/baby in the home. It's not practical.
Edit: goodnight all. I'm feeling miserable and won't be staying up any longer. Check on the baby, check on the cat, check on the husband and then to sleep. I've been pumping for 45 minutes and managed 50mls. I can't sustain her on that especially once I go back to work, and I'm worried that she's been cranky today cause she's hungry. Ignore my whinging.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Very true. Our cat took to peeing everywhere when Molly came home and he realised that she was getting all his attention. We managed to stop him doing it by wiping his face in his leavings, but the last few days he's at it again. This time though it's coupled with other symptoms of the end stage of a condition he has - so it isn't his fault and we're just making the best of it. He won't last more than a few days, it seems, and I'm not prepared to make him spend them somewhere that isn't home.
Poor kittyYour cat's situation is a bit different then.

Ok! so that was about my weird logic on why I had a homebirth because I don't want to be an over cautious anxiety-based mum who makes decisions out of fear. (like 3's story about the neighbour who's uncomfortable with her little girl being on the swings.)
Did I mention that said 'little' girl is 9?!? Don't take any notice of my ramblings about them - they're not a normal family!
Mum have a very strange logic - DD is always ill, isn't allowed on swings, slides, bikes etc.......but is playing out on her own after school every night and all weekend. I passed her a week or two ago, at half eight on a Saturday, about half a mile from home! Whereas i'm the worrier in that area that mine aren't allowed out without me!therefore, DD1 thinks i'm the worst, strictest Mummy ever.
A decision to labour in hospital (for me- not for any other mums) would have been based entirely on a sense of fear about 'what if the very worst should happen?'. In my case a 1:14000 chance.
Weezl - I love how you think so much!
I'd have loved to have a homebirth, and as it turned out, It would have been a nice and easy, half hour one. But (although I wasn't allowed because of previous c-sec) I was too scared!)
I suppose with having a previous c-sec my chances of problems are more?!?- but even after Liv & Violets incredibly easy, normal births, if there was ever another, I think my fear would win and i'd have it in hospital.

I love it! She must have been thrilled! Its sooo pink.
I'd love to do that for Liv - but she's never away for long enough! And she'd probably hate it because she's cool, and I have no idea about cool!redmel1621 wrote: »EATING ADVICE PLEASE - (before I disown/or worse this silly baby)
I am seriously tearing my hair out with Kai's eating, or lack of it!!! In every other way he is fabulous, but he just won't eat proper dinners. He either sits there letting it drip out of his mouth refusing to swallow it or screams as though he's being murdered.....
He will eat finger foods...so toast/rusks/quavers/bread, but no proper full dinner, I have been trying jars and home cooked, although less home cooked as I am sick of wasting my time cooking just for it to go in the bin.
I am sure it is 'just a phase' BUT it has been going on for about 6wks or more now and is really becoming upsetting for me. It doesn't help that I am not well at the moment and so have a lot less patience than normal.
Mel x
Mel I forget how much younger Kai is? Violet is another who never really liked purees, and much prefers lumps. She was eating lumps and finger foods well before the 7mth guideline.
At the moment she's mostly enjoying stuff she can pick up and eat herself (even though she only has one tiny tooth!) I'm not sure whether this is teething related or if she's just an independant madam!
But don't forget, they're all different. My RL best friends lo is 10 weeks older than Violet, and is struggling with lumpy food! She's so funny, whe pulls a face like she's being poisined and gags if anything lumpy gets in her mouth!
How were they older boys? Did they do everything by the book? Purees, lumps, solids? in the correct order
ETA: I've just read your sig (Doh!), there is only a month between them. I'd make him a sandwich, cut into four and put it on his tray, see how he manages with it.:beer:0 -
Cat advice - get some Feliway. It's cat hormone that makes them feel safe. We sprayed the house with it after Lilia was born and we have had only one wee and one poo from Kizzy, and now she is fine with the baby - well, she ignores her anyway!
It's not cheap but it really works - spray it round doorways and furniture every week or so and they will soon settle.
worth a try before getting rid of them anyway.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
