I know I'm never here anymore, but I have much napping to catch up on when Himself is asleep (pregnant again), so never on the computer anymore.
But. A few weeks ago he was teething and after one dose of calpol he refused to have any more drugs, so suffered for four or five days. But now he's ill, hacking cough and now a fever. And refusing any medication. Forcing him just gets us all covered in gloop. How can I give him medicine?? He's like a furnace right now, bless him, and I don't like it.
I've been wondering what happened to you. We had trouble with Alice and medicine when she was a little bit younger than your LO and then one day OH tried her with one of those little medicine measuring cups (which we have loads of because when you're in hospital they give you tablets in them so I saved them all when I was admitted with hyperemsis) and she takes it no problem like that. We did also have trouble when she was about the same age and had chicken pox and ended up having antibiotics which taste really horrible but we explained to her that she needed it make her better and that we knew it tasted nasty but she really needed it. She was having calpol and piriton at the same time so we ended up telling her, "This is the nice medicine." or, "This is the nasty medicine." so that she knew what to expect.
    JAM AND CHEESE TOGETHER???? !!!!!
What's wrong with jam and cheese together?

  • I love my hubby!! He obviously listened to me when we had our little spat in the week and he has just taken the boys out to do some jobs for mummy :T

Bruno - I forgot to say at the time but I hope Elijah is better after his run in with the dishwasher liquid! I was wondering if it was a modern day version of washing his mouth out with soap ;) :rotfl:

Sami - have a lovely holiday!

Maz - I don't think Agutka said when she was due. She was asking how to get LO to take medicine because they are having teething troubles.

Buttons - knocked your specs off  that must have been some puddle! Hope you have dried out now.

Susan - sweet and savoury just don't work together for me. I won't even have applesauce or cranberry on meat!! I do enjoy making them both though, my friends always get HM cranberry sauce at Christmas.

You've got a goodun there AM - Mine still hasn't done a bath, he's still scared of her!
I never did a bath until OH was working evenings when Alice was seven months. I also only changed one nappy in the first week and that was only because he went home overnight while we were in hospital.

We seem to have boxes and boxes of things still not back where they should be from the grand refurb so need to find a home for things and stash some bits in the loft. Hopefully I'll find the vac bags I bought too and be able to sort Rhys' clothes into sizes and get some of them in the loft too :)
We've still got stuff everywhere and in boxes too. (But from moving house.) I'm starting to feel a bit embarassed about it.

we solved the stuff in boxes still from moving problem by chucking most of it out/freecycling/ebaying :o

we had a firm rule that if we hadnt used it in a year and it wasnt of sentimental value it would go! OH tried to keep a few things like old games consoles he hadnt played on in years but i was evil and they went :D we now have a few bits of random crap under the bed in pampers boxes but thats it now. it will be a LOT easier to move house next time. we now have less crap lying around in our 2 bed house than we did in our 1 bed studio flat!

I go away to do an hours work and I come back and there have only been 2 posts??? Edit: ooo maz posted whilst I was typing!!!

Are all you lovely ladies off having real lives

I want a good clearout too but just never seem to get around to it...at the moment I just seem to do half a job of anything...clean half the bathroom each time, half of the kitchen floor, half the hoovering (haven't moved any furniture for weeks :o) half of the ironing! But by the time I go back to anything there is more than half to be done again

    La, la, la...rambling nonsense.

It is too quiet here :(
