Sparkle: Did you not wake up your OH? I would always make sure mine got up with Chris, by poking him in the ribs until he got up ;) your slowcooker is super fancy!

We'll be off out soon so won't hear much from me, going to get Chris from Nonna & Pops, then on to 'tripple G's' (aka Gt Grandad G:cool:) and then costco where I'm gonna try to convince OH to let me buy another pair of Kirkland uggs coz they are sooooooooooooooooooo comfy I want one pair for indoors and one for out :D

Grr.. I'm not managing to get anything done this morning! Rhys is constantly whinging for milk, then when I give him it he just plays with the bottle so it's taking forever to get it down him! :(

Are there any pushchair experts about? I need a new pushchair I think.

I've got the Quinny Zapp which I like the portability of it, but it is too flimsy. I've also got a Silvercross with a Classic Chassis, which looks lovely and is so comfy, but is too big and difficult to manouver.

I want a parent-facing pushchair that is easy to take into small places like shops, the clinic and the Doctors, but that doesn't feel too weak. Also needs to be able to fold up pretty small. Doesn't need to be 'from birth' as LO is almost 6 months and can sit completely unaided for long periods of time. The ability to recline a little bit (at least to bouncy chair angle) would be good.

    Any ideas?

    Nooooo.. :(

Just thought of one slight advantage of sedation tomorrow - can take his nail clippers and cut his nails whilst he can't fight! I'm covered in scratches.

Elle, you stay in with him because he is so young. All parents are allowed to stay over night. If you are lucky you will get an infant room, a cot for Rhys and a bad for you. If your unlucky you will be on a ward, Rhys will have a cot and you will get a dodgy camp bed in which case steal the biggest comfiest looking chair you see and be prepared for the worst nights sleep of your life, then you will be up at 5/6am with the random toddler who is running about or screaming :D

If you do go home you will probably be called in to settle him down anyway so it's easier to stay in. There is usually a few prams/buggies so you can take him a walk about too.

Medication, they may take it off you and give it to him on ward rounds but probably because it goes into feeds they will leave you to do it, but may still take the medication off you and you have to ask for it when you need it. Safety thing so that there is not medication on the ward.

The nurses on children's wards are lovely though, it is all very relaxed, lots of toys, usually a play nurse who will come along to give you a break and you can go to the parents lounge for a cuppa (no kids/babies allowed in there usually). Ours even has Magic Malky to entertain the kids. There will be a fridge in the prep area to store your milk and make up feeds.

The cots are ugly, metal painted white but you can take in his blanket and any cuddly toys that will make him feel more at home.

Free childrens tv on patient line but it goes off at 6pm and you can't use the internet. I think you can use the games though.

And you will probably be given a card to get parents discount at the hospital cafe if they have one.
