  • [STRIKE]Morning[/strike] afternoon all.

Hope everyone is ok. All good here - DH is in town for his regulat saturday overdoing-it-in-the-pub session. I have turned the heat on under the chutney (he got it all chopped up this morning) have my lunch cooking, and am feeding Izzy hers. (well, she is eating the eggy pancakey thing I made for her anyway :) ) I have all the washing up in the world to do, plus cooking baby food for next week. It's all go!

Oh, we were meant to go swimming this morning, but when we got there we found out it doesn't open till 10... and by then she was sleeping, and now it is lunchtime. Might go this afternoon, but not sure if we will fit it in. Not enough hours in the day!

Weezl - asda have sleeping bags for £5 I think. Mr T probably do too. But they are 6-12 month ones, so if you can get proper grobag ones second hand for a fiver I'd go for it, as they are much longer and go up to either 18 monts or 2 years (I can't remember which) so they should last longer iyswim.

Back to clothes - Izzy is always being mistaken for a boy, as she lives in hand me downs from boys. MIL and SIL do buy her girlie dresses and things though, so she is slowly getting a girlier wardrobe. (We do try and avoid pink if we can. I like girlie stuff, but I don't understand why it ALL has to be pink. I don't mind some pink, but not all of it!)

And I've not really thought about dolls. I remember someone posting a link to a breastfeeding doll though, might invest in one of them when she is older. I was never into dolls, and I'm kind of hoping Izzy will be the same, as I'm not sure I'd know what to do with one ;)

Are there places I can get them new for that?

  • Nearly... I'm worrying it's going to blow the building away! We're up on the 3rd floor, and it is howling by!

I've done about half of the washing up now... well half of the dirty stuff. Then I have to wash the jars I had delivered on Thursday. And then start cooking and make more washing up again. I think my skin might fall off my fingers by monday ;)

Leila has a black dolly (probably not the pc way of saying it) which my mum's friend bought her before she was born. Its from toys r us, like this one: http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Toys/Dolls/Baby-Dolls-and-Accessories/You-and-Me-Collection-18-Baby-Sounds-Doll(0071268)

    I think its horrible!

I had a gorgeous black doll from Selfridges when I was small, her name was Sade and she had lovely authentic afro hair. Sade was going to be Leila's middle name because of it but I changed my mind when she was born. I am going to get her a nice black doll for when she's older and I already have a white/caucasian doll ready for her.

Some ignorant moo moo told me when I was little that black people were people that God had burnt in the oven when he was making man out of clay. It has stuck with me all my life. I personally find it really stupid yet when I visualise it, its kinda funny too!

I do like Weezl's idea for secret santa. Perhaps we could all PM one person with the things we have and then that one person could compile a list of the things and send it to all and then we could put our names down next to things we like. Then that person could PM the person who owns the thing and that person could choose who to send it to and then............. Sorry, i'm exhausted now. Will have to have a think about it properly later!!

Got to pop out for a bit, but back to share my Saturday night with you all later!

I agree with Weezl.. I was too tired last night to even begin to contemplate how it could be arranged!

Imagine Christmas morning.. dish the pressies out, check gift tags before opening.. "Oh Rhys, this one is from your Auntie MSE Weezl!" :D

LOL - I want a gift from Auntie MSE Weezl!!

I kind of agree with Weezl - what would be the point if I picked out Elle and sent over some WTP outfits for Rhys :p Elle would be cursing Auntie MSE MFD (now thats a mouthful) til she is blue in the face!!

Baby on nap number 2 since I last posted! Does anyone else still have a baby who sleeps every 2 hours? If he would go down for longer than 30 mins at a time maybe he wouldn't get so tired so quickly

Need to go shopping. Are Morrisons still doing good nappy offers?

LOL at all the names - Benjamina, Chunk and Monkey Chops don't seem so bad after all!!

Need coffee then I am tackling the kitchen AGAIN!!!
