my twopennorth about secret santa:
Yay for the idea mooki
I think people roughly fall into 2 categories:
1)Love a surprise and a thing to open, and have a 'it's the thought that counts' attitude if the gift is unwanted (like a chav spoon!:rotfl:)
2)Like to get something they know will find useful, even if therefore is less of a surprise.
For me, I'm in the second category, feeling that the first kind of secret santa could involve lovely peeps on here going to great lengths to send things off which may not ever get used, which I struggle with a bit, as it doesn't seem very :money:
So I've got an idea, but it probably more appeals to folk like me!
What if we had a list somewhere that we could all add to (FB maybe?) saying what things Santa has, and people could write their name next to it if they think their LO would like it?
Example, Santa has a BNWT 'J' by Jasper conran rugby shirt in navy and yellow stripes for a little boy 6 months plus. (real life example)
If say: Rhys, Jack, or Dylan might appreciate that round about christmas time, I'd be very happy to send. (does that make sense?)
Happy to be shouted down if people think it's a bit too organised and removes the fun and spontinaety!!!:D
(I am a bit like Monica off friends who thinks that 'Rules control the fun!')

I agree with Weezl.. I was too tired last night to even begin to contemplate how it could be arranged!
Imagine Christmas morning.. dish the pressies out, check gift tags before opening.. "Oh Rhys, this one is from your Auntie MSE Weezl!"0 -
that sounds good for those on FB weezl, but there are a few who arentThe two best things I have done with my life

Question.. We have lots of WTP clothes which Rhys isn't (ahem) going to wear. Should I list them individually on eBay or in bundles - do people buy WTP bundles?
Might just have to put the piccies on FB first.. :whistle:0 -
I like the secret santa I dea but think it would be too difficult to do and keep secret as unless we have a massive meet up so we can all put the pressie in the bag it wouldn't be a secret or someone would have to have everyones addresses and then distribute them.(them being the addresses not the presents!)
Elle - we're stil in PJs too. I'm feeling the shame because the next man has been 3 times this week and everyhime I opened the door I'm pretty sure I've had the same pair on0 -
for the santa thing theres always one to sort it so .......... i say one writes out the names then a number to that name ...........you pick a number then that person is sent the name i dont mind doing it
x
Still searching .....:)

Ooh, Weezl, on the clothes thing... Everyone used to assume Aimee was a girl wether she was dressed head to toe in pink ruffles or not... Funnily enough they don't with Caitlyn... And she has some lovel glothes in green, blue and purple... She really suits strong colours and highly patterned... Today she is wearing the Liverpool away kit in grey and red (complete with grey socks)
Elle, I recon you could put them in bundles... Some people might love WTP as much as you dislike itA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
