Nursery Nurse - level 3 NVQ
Nursery Assistant - level 2 NVQ
I did an appreniceship which included a level 2 NVQ in Early Years Care and Education. Two year apprenticeship, I finished in 8 months. Would have been sooner had my assessor not had two months of sick. It was so, so easy and quite sad that that was all I needed to look after kids.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Hi all, has anyone used Sainsbury's baby basic products like nappies, wipes, shampoo, bubble bath... ? Any good?0

I gave pretty much everything of Aimee's away because I had no immediate plans for anymore (what with being on my own and everything) and also because most of it was passed onto me, I thought that if I did have anymore then I would prefer to have new things...
With the exception of her pram... My Mum bought it for me, and it was in too good condition to just give away but I didn't think it would fetch much if I sold it, so we packaged it up and put it in Mum's attic... And the cot bed which Aimee was still sleeping in when I got pregnant this time...
There are a few things I wish I'd of kept now but not many really... It's nice being able to go and buy new things for Caitlyn...
And randomly, despite being absolutely adamant I don't want anymore babies... I find myself planning to keep hold of things like the nappies and package them away... 'Just in case'
I meant both sentimentality and practicality. sentimental wise, I have kept her first babygrow and the most beautiful cardigan my mum knitted her. However I have kept everything else bar a few unisex items I sent to charity (via MrsT). we seem to have lots of things. I'm undecided about future children, but my sister and her husband are planning a few in the near future I think. I would happily pass on things like the moses basket, car seat etc. I will never get rid of the pram as I love it too much! and obviously she'll use her cot for a long time. But recently we have grown out of lots of clothes, bouncy chair, bumbo, getting past a few basic toys, etc and I don't want to pass them on/get rid of them/sell them 'in case' but also have no idea what use they would be packed up in our garage!!!!
Yes please :rotfl::Tmoney_maker wrote: »funny SM, I have just done the same !! Chocci bicci ????

morning all!!
how is everyone??
finally got a few mins to log on and catch up a bit.
Kian doing really well. is taking nearly 120ml of bottle now. although it does at times take nearly an hour for him to do so. night time is a bit harder. takes him for ages to settle down. DH has been up with him the past 2 nights till bout 1am trying to get him to sleep.nothing seems to settle him- i keep saying just put him down and he will eventually sleep but DH likes to cuddle him till he falls asleep. although once he does settle then, he only wakes 1 or 2 times.
keeping things--- i bought a storage box to put some things in. so far have his ID tag from the hospital, really small babygro and vest. have all the cards we got and 2 balloons that will go in as well. along with his birth anouncement in local paper (mil did this). will keep more things as we go along too.
going to get my haircut today. d'ya think if i just go and say can i have a cut that just needs washing and drying so it looks half decent they may understand?? i usually end up with a hairstyle that needs straightening to look any decent lol!!
mum goes home sun morn and i am really gonna miss her. its been fab having her round to help us. i really want to buy her something as a thankyou for all she has done. struggling a bit for ideas at the moment so feel free to suggest things. i know someone ages and ages ago had posted a link to a jewellery website that did personalised jewelery at really good prices, but cant remember or find it now. something like that would be ideal...

I kept EVERYTHING coz I'm sooo MSE :A
I haven't kept Chris's 1st outfit it's been passed on to a lovely little boy called Rhys
I did also buy it in the next size up though and will keep that because it's so darn cute!!
I've got Chris's 1st shoes though, my sis n mine 1st shoes are on display at mum n dad's with a pic of us together like a mini shrine
I have a memeory box with all the cards we got when Chris was born, the newspapers he was in when I entered him in cute baby comps (for the cheaper professional photos
) and lots of other bits and bobs.
I'll be keeping my crib and cot bed and possibly the P&T for my [STRIKE]next one[/STRIKE] sister depending on where we are living I might keep bouncy chair and large toys for sis too because I know when she has her babies money will be tighter for her because of the stupid benefits system and the fact that she will be the higher earner in her family unit.0 -

sorry no.Kit_Kat_Kate wrote: »Hi all, has anyone used Sainsbury's baby basic products like nappies, wipes, shampoo, bubble bath... ? Any good?
we use:
bath - nothing or sometimes oilatum (free from NHS minor ailments scheme or GP)
shampoo - only wash her hair 2-3 times a week and use johnsons lavender, but this is because we were given it as a present when she was born.
botty cream - sudacreme (but only when needed)
wipes - pampers (buy them on offer and stockpile)
nappies - pampers active fit for day (currently on 342 in boots) and huggies superdry at night (were on offer in tescos recently) and I buy when on offer.
the only other things I use are baby earcleaners - I buy them in waitrose as I can't find them anywhere else. our boots never has them in stock! And that's about it i think

okay - discussion question for the morning ladies (and Bruno if you are lurking). How much stuff are you keeping as baby gets bigger? Does this change if this is not a first baby? if you have more than one baby, what do you wish you had/hadn't kept? Thanks xxx
After dd1 grew out of kit I kept (everything
) because she was a fantastic baby and [STRIKE]I[/STRIKE] we knew that we wanted another... 19months later ds1 arrived so there were bits and pieces that could be reused i.e. unisex clothes/steraliser/cot/baby bath/bath seat etc... for some reason although he was the child that would never sleep I couldn't start getting rid of things when he grew out of them
dd2 arrived 2 1/2 years later and I started getting rid of "boy things" as ds grew out of them. DH had the snip so I started to get rid of kit as dd2 grew out them (which was really hard!)
Now that dd3 is here I wish I could have had the foresight to stash -unisex bodysuits/sleepsuits/sleeping bags, baby bath/top and tail bowl, bumbo, highchair, cot sheets, sling, swing, the zapp (for holidays) and the steraliser :rotfl: Basically all the bits that you don't use for that long (but that really add up when you need to buy them again!) and the baby monitor - which I did actually still have (I lent it to mil when fil was ill)
tbh I was a bit extreme at keeping everything that had life left in it
(there was stuff stashed everywhere - which was a bit of a pain) on the plus side the first 3 were pretty close together... imo between dd1 and dd3 (8/9 years) that everything baby related as either got more expensive or stayed about the same price...
Although there are always things that you will see that are an improvement on something that you have i.e click in car seats v's strap in, highchairs that fold up neatly etc.
Sorry I have waffled a bit x0 -

I'd go with freshly washed and not styled hair so they can see what they are working with and ask for a dry cut too so its will be more true to how it will look when you do it
not sure what the jewelry was but what about a grandma's boasting book with something else too?0 -
Morning everyone!
I took my DS back yesterday and got a new one
He started saying I was speaking rubbish and didn't care if I got trading standards on them, then he did a U turn in about a second and said he would give me a new one! What the hell!
So least that' sorted out
Went into town and couldn't find a top I like, saw a nice one in New look, a boob tube thing with a belt underneath, it fit great everywhere except my boobs, didn't even come past my nipples. Only time I've wished I had small boobies, or maybe when those kids called me fat titted lolz.
Got my friends party tonight, not looking forward too it. At all.0
