can anyone help as im slowly loosing it! landlord has just text to say she is coming on wedd moring at 8.45 with someone to measure for a new kitchen and bathroom(rubbing it in or what???) can i refuse?? feel like she is taking the p*ss right now and we have enough on without her. can i tell her that we would prefer this all to be done once the keys have been handed over? or does she have the right to come in??
Caz - she has to give notice, i know its at least a week maybe even a month. tell her to sod off! as if you don't have enough going on at that time of a day already!!!

update on weezl's work and money situation: It turns out I am eligible for the employer part of my mat pay, and if I do 8 KIT days between now and Christmas, then I can have £110 per week of SMP (weird, as I thought it was just a fixed amount!?) for the 39 weeks.

So that's tentatively good news :)

Next tasks: email my new line manager (new in post since I left) and suggest 8 KIT days, and see how she responds. Fingers crossed.

Caz, even if she is within her contractual notice period, I still feel it's reasonable for you to ask her not to appear at this time, since it is distressing for the children to be moving anyway, without someone measuring their kitchen whilst they have their breakfast!

thanks sami i was thinking of sending her a text back along the lines of, due to the situation we are in at present we would prefer you arranged the appointment when you have the keys returned. we have 5 children so between school runs and other appointments we will be unable to give you dates and times that we will be available. she doesnt know that we have a house :D

Sounds well cheeky Caz, tell her to she can wait a month. I'd totally be awkward, just cause! I hate people that rent out houses, break up or whatever, and just like oh well I'll kick you lot out now. ME FIRST!!

Took that picture earlier, cracks me up. That cat is just nuts.

I still have heartburn :( It's awful! I've tried gaviscon, milk and rennies. NOT WORKING.
