I don't feel at all the same as pre-pregnancy. I want to be able to sleep topless again, not worry about leaking and generally feeling unattractive (although OH continually assures me I'm not) Feel more like my boobs are only for Rhys than OH now, if that makes any (cringeworthy) sense.. :o

I can sleep naked now!!! And I can feed naked! It all calms down eventually - now I can hardly tell which boob to feed next by giving them a good grope!! You used to be able to tell by looking at them which was next...one nipple pointed towards my knees, the other at my eyes :rotfl:

Funnily enough the 2 RL mummy friends I went out with last night had taken the opportunity to stop BF their little girls (16m and 14m) - guess who was designated driver?

Just texted to see how they are feeling.

Namcat - Welcome and congratulations, well done for bf.

Plans for tomorrow - food shopping in the morning, DH on late shift tomorrow, following by a party organised by church - it's called a light party to counter the darkness of Halloween IYKWIM - it's a barn dance and all attendees have to bring food and drink for everyone else to share - DD's coming as she's a party/dancing animal.

DD is getting ready for Christmas my mum found a Disney sing a long video that's all Christmas songs and she's currently on her second viewing back to back and currently attempting to sing Deck the Halls! She loves to wiggle her bum to most of the songs though.

Ok I tried it on and made OH take a pic and I don't like it either, It looks fine until it hits my stomach but because there is ruffles down it, I don't see my fat bulge in the mirror but it is deffo there, and I think it's because I've got periods it's sticking out worse. What I'll do, is keep this dress because I do really like it and it's my fave colour (hot pink) and I'll get a floaty dress or something tomorrow in town, or even A line just to smooth over my bumpy tum.

afternoon all. I've been busy playing games on pogo and trying to get this baby to sleep. she has finally fallen asleep on me now, so who knows what kind of night we get. I'm going to be like a zombie at this wedding tomorrow night. (It is going to be the first time we leave Izzy with anyone else in the evening, and the first time anyone but me puts her to bed. What is the betting she is still awake when we get home?!

Very exciting Ladybird - hope you're not too exhausted! Try not to spend all your time worrying about Izzy :)
In total in 15 months we've gone out without Elijah 3 times in the evening, twice in the day. All with my mum or her dad babysitting. No-one has ever put him to sleep but us! I've been out for an evening without OH or baby maybe half a dozen times during that period.

    That sounds lovely :o

We haven't had a night away from elliot yet :o

    keely.

ps-off to see to a crying elliot.

Awww Keely - no evenings out at all? Or do you mean, overnights? We haven't had either of us away overnight yet. We've had babysitting for OH's birthday, our anniversary, and a couple of other occasions only.

Tigs, congrats and that's really exciting!! I had the impression it wouldn't be for a while yet, are you all ready?? :)

Nancmat, I thought people were being a bit brutal with the "totally normal!" responses! It's true though, but I know we found it really hard and I think a lot of people do... just do damage limitation by taking it absolutely as easy as possible the rest of the time, putting as much on OH as possible, and looking forward to when she settles into a bit more of a pattern :) you will look back through rose-tinted glasses and get broody for the newborn days at some stage I promise :p

Elle, OH is still BF now at 15 months, down to around 3 a day now. She hopes to let him self-wean but I think she is beginning to look forward to the end. To echo MFD, it hasn't been a leaky/sleeping nekkid issue for many months now though, so that's one reason that might go away even if you don't stop :)

Hello all I'm new to the parent thread had my baby girl on Monday!!

I've been breastfeeding but started expressing today only a few ounces in two bottles and she takes it fine, I understand from classes I can keep this in the fridge for 24hrs, if I feed her and a bit is left over can this go back in the fridge for her next feed within the 24hrs, or do I need to bin it? I have been feeding her the bottle straight from fridge again have been told this is ok and she is taking it well.

Also sorry another question she was up last night from 9.30pm until finally settling properly at 5am... obviously this was very hardwork and I almost felt like quitting after a tearful night, is this normal?

    xx

Speaking of BF being hard... nebby question coming up.. Are any BFers in way looking forward to BF coming to an end?

I was talking to my friend earlier and she said she can't wait :o She said she'd probably have switched to formula at the six month point but her hubby has diabetes and so she wants her LO not to have formula (not sure of the link there, but I assume there is one ).

Can't say I'm not not looking forward to when I can stop but that comes with the expressing too, I guess..

I was reading the other day about a 6mth+ milk being lower in sodium and other stuff than cows milk and it got me thinking whether Rhys would be allowed ordinary cows milk.. Question for the dietician when we finally get an appointment, I guess

ETA: nancmat, don't let my wittering put you off! BF is fab, just stressful at times.. maybe that's what I'm getting at.
I feel the same about not needing to wear a bra 24/7 etc! Also I hate feeding in public and don't leave the house anywhere near as much as I did with Chris because of it :o
elle im going through the whole chocolate slab thread ... there soooo pretty x

  • Elle I know what you mean about feeling like your boobs are just for baby, I'm finding that part a bit difficult as I start thinking about it when I ought not to be thinking iyswim and it just puts me off altogether.

I keep thinking I'd like to give up, Ello will be 8m next week and often think I've had enough particularly when she's fighting me (which is fairly often) however now I've accepted she won't feed during the day and its just first thing and last thing, its better plus she will not take a bottle and I CBA be bothered forcing her so its easier just to keep on feeding her.
