Went to mum n dad's for tea as per on a friday and I got really annoyed by her (my thick skin was worn a bit thin with the lack of sleep and screaming, throwing up baby)
She asked when Ed would be starting solids and I said "oh I don't think I'll bother for a while yet" she then said in a stupid voice "ooh you're treating them differentlyyyyy" yes I F'ing am! I don't believe there's many mums out there who do things exactly the same 2nd time around!! I don't give Edgar preferential treatment I just do things differently! I had Chris unplanned when I was 21yo, I didn't have much of a clue what I was doing and suffered from the white coat syndrome of just doing as I was told by HVs etc. I mean seriously does she also think I should have only BFed him for 2 weeks as well just to keep things the same?!
She didn't take any interest in why when I started to explain and just cut me off! pah grrr0 -
.. I feel the same about not needing to wear a bra 24/7 etc! Also I hate feeding in public and don't leave the house anywhere near as much as I did with Chris because of it
Yeah, I know that feeling too. It's also probably partly cabin fever with me because the expressing/feeding thing can take an hour completely (and that's if it all fits into a nice even pattern which it often doesn't), so then I've only got two hours just counting the clock before it all starts again so I'm not seeing the point in going out!Millie's_Mum wrote: »Elle I know what you mean about feeling like your boobs are just for baby, I'm finding that part a bit difficult as I start thinking about it when I ought not to be thinking iyswim and it just puts me off altogether.
Yup, I know exactly what you mean
Thanks for letting me witter, ladies (ETA: and Bruno!)You're all fab xx

Aw ((HUGS)) Sami - you should have just said 'didn't you know I am a hippy now?' and left it at that.
Mothers are silly sometimes, they don't realise that they can upset us with a few words, I am sure she didn't mean anything by it.

It seems to me that you'd have to change things the second time around - if only because you're not familiar with things the first time, and so you're more confident and better informed the second time.
 at your mother. It doesn't mean that you're treating one kid preferentially.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Where have you been hiding?I don't think it would have normally got to me but you know how it is
Edgar threw up all over me as I was coming down the stairs at lunch so I ran to the kitchen (lino flooring;)) where he continued to be sick (just watery stuff with snot _pale_) while this was happening Chris got stuck in his pants (:rotfl:) so wet himself while trying to get them off, by the time I'd got all 3 of us cleaned up and scrubbed everywhere, made lunch and started to catch up the forum had gone down and then I was at m&d's for tea *phew* busy day... oh and I had a GP app in there somewhere too - everyone will be pleased to know that Eds ribs are within normal wotsits and should be straighter when he's older coz they're mostly cartilage at the mo:D0
