Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Wed 23 nd September. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning.

Damp start to the day and set to clear up and be sunny for several days.... Suits me fine.

Fishing was great. Our team beat the Firemen for the 3rd year running. I had the best fish of the day with a nice black bream of 3lb 7oz.
Sea was a bit rough and it was hard standing up in the boat.... So much so that I ache all over today with the constant moving and bashing about effect.

Work today at 5pm, so I have the day to myself and then work half the night.... Not my favourite shift.

Well, have a good day.... Cheers

When i came into w*rk this morning i almost walked back out again - apparently there is a problem with the drains _pale_:rolleyes2 so it`s not very nice here ATM, hopefully someone will be out so find the problem soon, i feel like i need another shower now and am not impressed - won`t be later if the smell gets into my clothes. Grinning and bearing it for now.

I`m off to mash another cuppa - i have camomile, honey and vanilla teabags this morning so at least the aroma from those helps a bit :D

  • Morning everyone.
Not caught up with the rest of yesterday thread so shall do that in a mo.
BM on, some washing to hang up (if it's dry then outside).
Going to take the kids to toddler group at the end of the road as I know DS will be bouncing off the walls if we don't do something! He decided to wake at 5.30am this morning which means he'll be bone tired round about the time he's at nursery  DD was also making noises fairly early this morning (bout 4am) - I had about 2 weeks where they both slept til 7am and now its all gone back to how it was
Nowt else to report. My mum and dad are back off hols so no doubt be popping round to them so they can have a grandchild fix ;)
All very boring here. Not sure what to do for tea.....it's supposed to be ham and lentil ragout but I don't have any ham :rotfl:
Anyway off to check out the Flylady thread (ooops still not done yesterdays list :o) and catch up on yesterdays thread.
Hugs to those that need them.
Have a good day OS or not.

Morning ALL, I have been missing the last few days because the internet packed up. So I need to catch up today.
My little Master started Nursery yesterday and has taken to it like a duck to water. He had a really lovely time and made lots of new friends.
I enjoyed my time alone and done some ironing.
Today I am making beef pie a "tumbledown" from the big beef stew I made on Sunday. Washing is on the line and most of the house looks tidy.
    Enjoy your days.

    Morning all!

Damp and grey here, glad I got the kids pool away in the garage last night, been outside drying off - well dried off several days ago actually, just not got round to putting it away lol!

WM on, washing on airer and other lot folded, help the ironing/putting away pile is almost as tall as me - that'll be a job for this morn I think! Espresso made and drunk, I love my new coffee maker! Kids sarnies all done and big ones packed off, just dd3 getting ready at mo for her lift. Kitchen given quick S&S and animals all fed and watered.

Need to sort out sitting room, dd3 was using it as a school yesterday evening, and my bedroom was a dormitory so is full of dolls and toys in beds (boxes!). Very sweet to see, but slightly peeved that she didn't tidy up - don't mind the toys so much as the paper she's left everywhere, apparently she was teaching art and craft yesterday lol!

Lunches were marmite sarnies (again?!), apple, orange, muffin and crisps (I'm so generous and kind!)

Dinner will be cottage pie for the kids - must take mince out to defrost! I will have something from the freezer, poss some soup, and take it to work this eve.

Right best get on, got to pop into town later for some art supplies for dd3 - dd1 is doing art gcse and had loads of bits a couple of weeks ago, now dd3 is feeling all inspired! So best clear off dining room table as well so that she has somewhere to create her masterpieces! Also need to pop round to oh's and collect the wii, if I can prize it away from him, and help him put up a tarp for bbq tomorrow. Friend is going back home to Poland so leaving bbq is being organised, not by me this time, so best find out if anyone is expecting me to do all the usual stuff or not!

Have a good day all xx

Not much on today. Laundry, ironing (if I get really bored), feed my sour dough starter, empty compost waste bin into big compost bin, hoover everywhere (well not upstairs, don't want to get obsessive about housework after all;):p), possibly mow lawn, make something for supper before fetching dd from school, take dd swimming.

Breakfast -bacon sandwiches for the kids with proper bacon from the butcher -been buying supermarket bacon recently. Ooh the difference-even good quality Waitrose bacon not a patch on the butcher's stuff which was slightly cheaper too. Kids very appreciative.
I had blackberry and apple compôte with hm yogurt and bit of honey.

Lunch - OH and the boys have stew pasties (leftover Moroccan lamb and chickpea stew), an apple and a slice of apricot cake.
Dd has cheese straws (made with leftover pasty pastry rolled sprinkled with cheese and rolled again), cheese cubes, cherry toms, apple and apricot cake.
I have got leftover chicken and barley soup-think it's on its last day-needs eating up.

Supper- baked potatoes, coleslaw and three bean chilli (veggie)

  • Morning all,
Just read about your BIL Bargainbird my prayers are with you and his family, what an awful thing to happen.I hope the swine gets locked up.
Weather looking grey here at the moment but the weekend forecast is good.I have a hospital appointment this morning as they are going to review my lymphodema in my right arm ,plus hopefully there will be a couple of new bra's waiting for me there ,eerm front-loaders if you know what I mean as i have dificulty doing up the ones at the back. The hospital get them at about 50% reduction for me from a specialist firm so its very money saving at £23 instead of £45-6.They are designed to hold my prosthetic breast that's why there a bit more expensive. Apart from that not much to report I am doing o.k. on my GC challenge with just 6 days to go I have just over a tenner left and no food to buy atm.
Hope everyone is fine and ,,Hugs.. to those in need .
    Take care all
