Just picked up a silver one in the Bridgend Store (South Wales) I think they had a few left..update...just noticed the box says violet so it looks like I've had the wrong one...don't think I'll return it though

Managed to get a Purple 20GB from Stafford today (me and my bf bought one) and im really surprised at how great it is. Been looking at buying the 6GB for ages now but considering this way the 20gb is cheaper than the 6GB it was a no brainer really!

It charging at the moment but have listened to a few tracks on it and the sound quality is really good. Really impressed with it and, in my opinion, its much nicer than an IPOD and doesnt feel like its gonna break any second (unlike the IPOd nano!)

has anyone bought a decent case for theirs as yet? Really dont want to scratch it. Been looking at the silicone cases but they dont protect the screens and its this id like to protect. Some nice leather ones out there but just wondered wot other pople had bought

Is it possible to phone up a local store and ask them to save one (if in stock)?

The closest Tesco Xtra to me is a bit of a distance and I don't want to waste a journey on the train.

Just a quick question which mp3 player did you have that came with a remote, docking station and a case?

The HD1 came with a docking station rather than a cable and was a bit of a pain to carry arround, a cable is much easier to carry around. The HD3 5 and the A series all use cables. as do Ipods any docking stations are after market extras.
Remote the higher end Minidisk player had them and they are compatable with the HD1,3 and 5 they will also work the a1000 and 3000 but alot of the functions are missing I asked a freind to bring me 3 of the 3 line remotes from Japan as they are alot cheaper over there no problems on the hd1 and 3 the a3000 play next ect are fine but you cant navigate the unit.

As for a case I was disapointed EVERY other sony portable thing i have bought in the past 8 years (3 Md players and 3 HD mp3 players) has come with a case of somekind but the a3000 didnt. the leather ones make the unit bulky the nicerone is the soft foam pocket I think it was about £10 from a sony shop similar to the ones the psp's come with.

I bought one from my local Tesco's yesterday for £99.97, the box is purple but it is labelled S Silver and the unit is Silver.

ive never bought an mp3 player before, always used my phone but i have tape and cd players from years ago that cost a lot less than an mp3 player and they came with an inline remote and a case, cant find anywhere that sells the remotes for less than 20quid as well

I bought a 3gen ipod 20gb from the apple refurb site about 9 months ago....it came with dock, leather case and a wired remote for the headphones
