aww thank you moneytroubles... I'm settling in ok, but my goodness it's hard to just not go out and spend money!!! It's money I don't have though that's what I have to keep telling myself.

right job for tonight is definitely meal planning.... I will not get sidetracked by the tv......
  • It is so hard not to spend money - i never realised how often I did spend if that makes sense! I'm nearing 0 now on a couple of debts and I'm SO excited, although still got a fair way to go as you will see from my signature! xx

hey moneytroubles well done you on getting to some 0's I bet it's been a weight of your mind! :T

Right I have transferred £4.00 from my normal account over to an empty account to start my debt destroying, and then I'm going to transfer it once a week to my cahoot account. Now although that looks like a good start, I'm not sure if I'm robbing peter to paul sort of thing, as I don't know if that £4.00 is actually spare...... my thoughts being

I just took it out as it rounded my normal account down to £150, but as I need to pay £500 back to my wedding fund account (which is the money I had to take out for my trip with work last week) I dont know if I'm just taking the £4.00 out just because it's there.....

And out of the £150 left in my normal account I'm going to have to take £90 which I owe for my car and £50 for petrol, which leaves me with £10!!! and still £500 to find to pay back the wedding fund. mind you I still need to put my expenses in which should cover some of it.... aaaaahhhh the deeper I delve the more worried I get. well I will keep it in there for now......

Omg could you follow that, I'm already confused!!!! aaaahhh
  • Hey missymoo! sounds like you have the mse bug well done on saving the lunch situation. :j Thanks for posting on my diary!

right my plan to find the £5oo to put back in the wedding fund which I need to do before I can even think about paying the dreaded debt.

    £60 expenses for travel
    £60 euros to be changed
£18 cheque from orange which needs paying in
£36 dresses that need to be taken back to tesco and next
    £250 expenses for food
£50 jewellery (just a guess but hoping for more)
    £30 mileage claim

ok so how much is that £504 ok good!!!! so £4 onto the debt account!

now if I get any more money on the ones that I am hoping for more, that can go straight onto my debt.

right I also have my old phone i need to envirophone or mizuma. I will definitely sort that tomorrow..... hmmm feeling a little bit more postive. It's amazing what talking to yourself can do!!!!!!

I really have got the MSE bug beat the debt, I've just run around turning all the lights off apart from the one in the bedroom and I'm all huddled up in bed already!!! I just want to do everything now like batch cook everything and fill up the freezer so that when OH gets home from being away there will be lots to eat but we wont need to go to tesco! but trying to do this work out my finances, work and keep sane I think I'd be sturggling so I keep having to tell myself... baby steps.... I'm so impatient though!!

OK I have been looking at meal planning on the old style thread, and ways to save money on food etc. I've just found a recipe for home made bread which is 14 a loaf, now I think it is a couple of years old so it might have gone up with inflation but even if it's 25p it's still really cheap, and I've looked and I have a bread tin. So again tomorrow my task will be to make some bread and see how easy it is... I haven't ever made bread, but it can't be that hard... can it?!

ok so my meal plan i think will go something like this.

breakfast: porridge (made with water fortunately I prefer it that way)

snack: home made cookie or cake

lunch: sandwich using homemade bread with lentil pate or hoummus (recipe snaffled from Weezls live on 50p a day thread on OS)

snack: another little cookie or cake

dinner: scrummy home made soup (this is mega easy I've been making soup for years it's cheap and scrummy.

now meals for a week like that must come in on a very small budget... which if I allow myself £12.50 a week I don't think I'd even spend £2.50 which means £10.00 can go straight on the debt...... hmmmm good thinking me thinks.

just had a sneaky peak at food prices and could come in under £2.50 a week. it wouldn't be easy but it's definitely just do able.
  • just a little gentle bit of advice allow yourself some nice things so you dont feel hard done by, i do and it keeps me going.x
