Hi Missy!
Gosh, I was only off the boards for the weekend (bday celebrating with DF meant I couldn't get on) and look what you've been upto!
Just had a long and thorough read through and caught up.
Must not stay away so long next time
.
In one of the first posts I missed you had gone a good while without spending on food so well done you. Seems to be something you're doing really well on the whole. Just to get that meal plan sorted now.
Good luck on getting your latest tesco shop to under £5- shop around and Im sure you'll do it.
You'll be a reformed woman by the time your OH comes back- he won't suspect a thing.
:A
I know what you mean about being addicted to the site.. Even when Im not on it I think about it :rotfl:. Don't ever think you're rambling to yourself though - I for one always make sure I catch up on your goings on.
:money:
The £15 in the card must've been a nice suprise!
And your spends matching it.. Well I'd be tempted to count that as a No Spend Day. Not technically ''cheating''... Right??..... Hehe. I'm very bad!
That reminds me, I hope you enjoyed having your nan round for brunch.
I am also SO very impressed by your Jam and Bread making. How very OS and MSE. You're doing great so definatly keep it up! You're becoming quite the domestic goddess.
I'll join in on that diet too! Im also going GONNAGETTHINNER but the more motivation for me the better!! Will post my details, somewhere, soon.
Keep it up. Long live frugal missy! :j:j:j:j

aww thank you for the optimism jellie, and thank you for the lovely long reply.
I think I'm doing ok, like you I constantly think of this site and my debt fee ways lol, does that make me sad???!!!! :eek:Have just been having a major think whilst in the shower and am worried that I wont be able to stick to my budget...... have so much going on in October and not to mention 3 birthdays..... £135 really isn't going to go too far, but will try and see what I can do, it does mean that I wont be able to throw any extra money at the debt.... which I really wanted to... not good:rolleyes:0 -
Thats OK. I love doing long replies!!

No that doesnt make you sad. Either that or we both are... :rotfl: And I refuse to be. :rotfl:
I think with a little effort you can do it.
Re: the birthdays, something nice and cheap I like to do is make a kind of ''hamper'' (though not really as they're very small!! More like a box) that includes little personal things that I know the person would like. I often throw lots of freebies in like little tester sachets etc or just cheap little bits and bobs. These go down really well as I think people appreciate the effort and the thought.

A site I use for freebies is freeukstuff.com ...It has lots of good links to sites and is categorised. This is good for pressie box bits and also stuff for yourself

oh honey thank you I hadn't even thought of that, you've made my day, that's exactly what I will do for my step mum.... and I might be really cheeky and see if I can take it off the groceries budget as it will probably all come from tesco anyway.

Saving Holmes picked up some great jars from Asda to fill with sweets etc which could be good as part of a hamper. I'm going to do some hampers for Crimbo2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

oooh how exciting, hampers here I come.
Well managed to escape from tesco having only spent £3.34 although my shopping list changed a bit.
Didn't buy porridge as found i had 16 sachets of micro porridge in the cupboard!! How had I missed this before???
Didn't buy pickle as am in the process of making tomato chutney which I thought I could use instead of pickle. Have never made this before or tasted it for that matter, god I hope it's nice, OH loves it!!!
Did buy veggies bought noticed i had garam masala or something similar in the cupboard and used that instead of 5 spice.
So at present I am in the kitchen with chutney on the hob a huuuuge batch of soup in the slow cooker and jam about to be made..... where did all this energy come from I wonder.... wonder if its the home made bread!!!!!!!
speak soon

:rotfl: I dont know how you missed 16 of them!!
:T:T Go you. You've more energy than me.

me neither, numpty that I am!!!! But atleast it saved me some money... and I've been thinking instead of getting a taxi to get my car, I think I'm going to get a bus into town then walk from there....... would save me £7.50, which in turn would pay to have my eyelashes done tonight so no money spent on myself.
One thing I'm going to have to get out of the habit of doing, is when I save money from being frugal etc. that it doesn't mean it's free money to spend, it just means that's more money off of my debt!!!!
And energy I have no idea where it's coming from but I'd best not knock it, it may disappear!!!!!
hmmmm looking at my jam think I should have sieved it first as there are lots of seedy bits in it!!! But hey ho nevermind I'll know for next time.
oh and my chutney doesn't seem to be setting!!!! Lol I haven't got the faintest idea what I'm doing really I just shove everything in a pan and hope for the best!!!!! not really a domestic goddess after all :D0
