There's probably enough fat in spam to run a car on.0

Not too sure about these spam messages- have some posts been delated?
Not having a good day today as the car wouldn't start this morning, hoping that it is just a flat battery and nothing relating to the weekends shenanigans, maybe the garage had the radio going all day yesterday whilst fixing it. Will be having a tinker later on this evening. Fingers crossed I couldn't cope with anymore car related grief this week.0 -
Someone spamming some biodiesel something or other.
Hopefully you've just juiced the battery a bit when it broke down and a recharge will fix it.
Might be an air lock? Had that a couple of times when inserting an inline filter or replacing the fuel filter. Just turned it over till it started.
Good luck0 -
Battery fully charged and car fully working! Running like a dream, all I need to do now is buy and fit a n/s wingmirror which some chav has taken it upon themselves to break overnight, it never rains.....0

but i was thinking,as a cheap tank heater could you not fit 12v heating elements to the fuel tank? i was thinking along the lines of those 12v elements you can get to heat up a cup of tea or coffee.
hard wire a few of these into your tank and help keep it a few degrees warmer in the colder weather.
i know some of the councils used to cover the fuel tanks with expanding insulating foam to save thier gritters diesel tanks freezing in the winter and insulated all fuel lines aswell.

Its using a 12V baby bottle warmer attached around the fuel filter of a merc 190D, but it would work with any diesel wouldn't it?0 -
I found this a few months ago:

Compare the price to a pukka fuel filter warmer from https://www.engineheaters.co.uk (they don't give prices on site, but it's £40 or £55, in two sizes).0 -

Just picked up 80 litres of wvo and it looks pretty clean to begin with so very happy. Will store in the garage and filter when it warms up a little. Have now got enough fuel to get me through a couple of months so I am feeling pretty good at present.0

Found this great site about a chaps experience of running his car on veg-
http://www.vegoilcar.co.uk/index.php
He is running a 2005 Landcruiser and his site is packed with helpful info and tips, a worthwhile read.0 -
That guy started in a 3 year old vehicle worth quite a bit of cash.
Followed his link to one of the sites that sells kits to 2 tank, went onto another one with a search.
Think it's time to go back to basics and get a decent filtering system for the waste oil set up. I've only ever put it through sock filters and then into the car.
Then twin tank the wifes CRD Voyager but from forums instead of buying a dedicated kit. It appears it can be twin tanked.0
