You need to find the brake light wire on both sides going to the bulb, then using a piece of wire, connect them together with something like scotch locks from Halfords.
It wouldn't cost alot for the garage to do that to check it.

    PM'd you....!

Same concept as modern telephone extension wiring.

    Whoever invented these dreadful connectors should have one crimped on his foreskin :}

i would generally agree, i would prefer to use piggybacks or crimp both wires into one terminal if possible.

but scotch locks are good for quick fixes in awkward areas.

    I agree with that.

Aha, the temporary fix that ends up permanent.
When I first used Scotchloks I really thought they were the dog's danglies and it was only later I realised what a pile of crap they really are.

I'm still using ones I put on 25 years ago.
  • Any time i've fitted a towbar i've used the blue ones like ones in the link. never had problems, but never keep them long either.
We use a different one at work that's for telecoms cables. they release a gel that seals them too, can take 3 thin telecom wires and seem quite good.

    thats the one!

  • Having run out of methanol, and since a lot of the oil I have is liquid even when a bit cold, I've 400 micron filtered 40 litres, added 4 litres of petrol and filled up the car (pumping it in through a 1 micron filter).
You can put your finger in the filler and touch/see the fuel, so I've reset the trip computer and we'll get a MPG reading soon.

Had a eureka moment and wondered why I am bothering making bio out of good oil?
So from now on if it's filterable, filter, if it's only sieveable, bio.
  • A lot depends on the quality of the liquid oil - a BD conversion is a sure way of getting a consistent clean-burning product, whereas with using straight WVO, you can never be sure what's happening to your injectors, pump, combustion chamber.
Having said that, I did exactly as you and after a couple of years making BD, started using a blend of WVO and white diesel and the only problem that cropped up was on the SOJC, where 80,000 miles of yard diesel left a deposit in the bottom of the car's fuel tank that reacted with the WVO and clogged up everything.
It's all cleaned out now and running great again, but it's something to be wary of. I'm now fitting an aux tank purely for vegoil mixes, so to avoid the problem recurring.

Adding petrol means it all becomes duty payable.

    I'll keep that in mind.
