I was surprised that the Coventry Building Society got listed though: it's one of the regional societies that has little presence outside its home area, AFAIK.
Coventry Building Society used to pay an almost table topping interest rate on their current account but without the usual £2500 limit on the high interest rate so quite a few MSE users probably have or have had an account with them at some point. If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.
If you do like it please hit the thanks button.0 -

I bank with Smile - not the best interest but fantastic service and have NEVER had a problem with them. They were brilliant when my card was "compromised" a few years ago and were very swift at sorting it out and refunding the money. Great bank account!0

Natwest, moved from HSBC when i couldn't understand their phone operators, and they couldn't help me with fraud problems

Surprised A&L haven't polled more, they've been the top pick current account for many for AGES!
They are my main bank but I have a nationwide account for travel money - of course!0 -
I voted citibank - the only bank to give me a debit card!
After some of the massive threads on here about them, I'm suprised they don't have more votes tbh! No problems with them at all (good service, good online banking, not bothered about interest rate too much as I don't keep much of a balance in that account).
Oh and top savings account too
Have a nationwide account for travel, but their service has gone way downhill recently (they used to be my main account).
There seem to be an awful lot of people on here with a high street / 'big four' bank account. Bit suprised tbh!

I've banked with one for years still have most of my direct debits go out from there but my wages are paid into another account because they had a good overdraft facility and then I pay them across to another account I opened because of the bonuses it gives me. I circulate money between the 3. And I was actually thinking of opening another one as they are offering £100 to new customers. So which one should I put? You might say it's as easy as which one your wages get paid into but I've even changed that around alot lately. Maybe it should be the one I've been with the longest? In which case HSBC wins.
I think this is meant to be a snapshot of where your money is now. If this pole is repeated and you enter your changes it will show your change in preferred bank and it will show the trend in users of this site.
It's not perfect because (for example) if there's a sudden increase in members of this site made up of people dissatisfied with a particular bank who have not changed yet that will skew the result but it assumes that the numbers using the site will remain fairly constant.
It's only a crude indicator and I expect provided for interest only. I don't suppose anyone should base important decisions on the results which (predictably) show that most people bank with the big boys and the rest of us go to the smaller ones. I'm with the Yorkshire Bank and I have no complaints. Maybe I should; I don't know - we'll see. For the moment changing banks is not at the top of my agenda.
