I've recently given away just this year...
1. A huge rabbit run (was taking loads of space in the garden)
2. Three single beds with mattresses (not used at all for years, perfect condition)
3. Four 14" TV's that were no longer used, all had RC's and 2 were TV-Video combo's
More to go soon... most clothes go to the local charity shops though.0 -
Oops, forgot to mention I also gave away an old computer with monitor too... was about 6 years old, perfect working order but too old and slow for me. Could not be bothered to try and sell it on for whatever it was worth... £50 maybe? Decided to give it to whoever sounded nice on the phone, which happened to be a poor mum who needed a computer for her daughter for school work. That made my day.0

About a year and a half ago my life collapsed around me and I was virtually homeless.
I had an empty flat and almost no money to buy anything to go in it.
Using Freecycle (and the kindness of others) I almost completely furnished my flat.
Fridge/freezer
Cooker - almost brand new
Bed - one for me one and one for my son
Sofa's X 2 - one's a Multiyork with two sets of covers!
TV & stand
Table and chairs
Washing machine
etc, etc, too much to mention.
It's one of the best ideas anyones ever come up with! The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0 -
I too love Freecycle. Got to know about it from this forum actually.

other baby things - friends daughter
childrens books - my nieces
childrens school clothes - my nieces
sewing machine - myself
breadmaker - myself
euromeed coolant - myself
dyson dco2 - myself
knitting machine - myself
coffee machine - myself

tomato plants - myself and sister
firesurround and hearth - myself
I have given some things away as well. The first lot was some books, they went to several people. Then I had a lot of clothes, they went to one person. Then I gave away a nice winter jacket, but also gave the same lady some more clothes, i even took them to her house for her as she was not able to walk very far. I got lost in the process and probably cost me more in petrol. lol.
I think Freecycle is the best thing to ever happen. Especially for people struggling to make ends meet. We all have things happen in our lives such as redundancy, can't find jobs, can't work through ill health. This helps so many people. Thank you everybody who makes this great site work.0 -

I like to fix fault electronic items
There’s always to many on freecycle for me and most like minded repairers
(but remember its cost money for parts to fix items)
So I do tend to pick and choose
So if you have a faulty item
Give a good description
As dead TV is not enough
Make and model would help and of course will need the remote
the better the description the better the chance of it going
If nothing else it will save you a trip to the tip
I pick up a 100 plus faulty items a year and manage to fix about 75% of them
Some go back on freecycle
Some I sell to cover the cost of parts to fix them
Have fun0
