If car park was virtually empty why didn't you use those spaces ?Hi
I have just recieved a parking ticket for parking in a disabled bay in tescos in Hull. This was at 7 o clock at night when the car park was virtually empty I was picking my daughter up I just pulled into a bay not thinking I got out of the car to see if she was comming I walked some 50 yards less than 2 minutes When I returned there was an attendant taking details of my car I feel he was watching and waiting to see if I got out and left my car result £40 fine if I pay in 14 days or 75 if not paid.
Should I pay0 -

It doesn't matter Leslie wether it was a mistake or intentional, the fact of the matter is you have an unenforceable invoice, purely designed to scare you into paying and to put you off from parking where you shouldn't even tho the spaces have no meaning.people here are missing the point this was done in error made a mistake for 2 minutes I,m very very sorry hope this satisfies
The ADVICE STILL STANDS>>>DO NOT CONTACT THEM OR PAY THEM<<<You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

If it's a private ticket, then it's a civil, rather than criminal, matter, so all they'd be able to get from anyone in court is compensation for the actual loss that they've suffered. They can't make punitive charges.
The actual loss - assuming they can prove that there was any - will be peanuts, so it's simply not worth their while going to the expense of court procedings.0 -

Very rarely do they end up in court basically due to the downright fraudulent nature of all the correspondance they send, on the occasions they do actually end up in court and they are few and far between the driver has admitted liability and has not put together a good defence and has subsequently lost, only 1 case this year I think ? that has succeeded and that was due to a poor defence, if it ever gets that far suggest you start new thread on pepipoo as the more senior members on there are excellent in prepairing defences. So on which occasions do these fines end up in court. why don,t they take people to court? You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

Yet again a 'parking fine' question turns into [after ignoring the troll] ...''it's disgusting that people park in the blue badge/'ickle baby spaces, hang them all' thread.
[I should save the above para on a typing-macro since it applies to so many threads...lol]0 -
