I went to Tescos last week at 8pm not far from Hull with my disabled daughter all but one partly disabled space (due to a moron parking dead in middle of two spaces) was full of non blue badge holders

Believe or not disabled people also have a life like everyone else does. Just because the car park was empty what gives you the right to park in blue badge space

the person recieving this ticket would like to send a letter back stating they were not driving and I feel I must comply
They wont take a blind bit of notice.
If you dont mind them sending you even more letters then go ahead send them a letter, but trust me the letters will come thick and fast if you do contact them, as you will then be classed as a hooked fish.
Advice still stands IGNORE THEM they eventually go away, for your info I have a ticket I am ignoring from tesco at beverley, yeah im the registered keeper but I aint bound to be the driver as more than one person drives my car, you are under no obligation to divulge to these shysters who the driver was.
By the way what company issued the ticket ?

If all the disabled spaces were full what would you have done ? if it were me then id have parked in two normal spaces.

And I wonder how many blue badge holders abuse the system ?

Ah, so it was just an assumption, then?

What amazes me is how many drivers you see sitting in the vehicles in these disabled bays.

Yes but most people leave blue badges displayed so not so much an assumption

You make assumption to, its perfectly plausible that the driver isnt disabled but the passenger is, they could be waiting for them to come out of a shop etc

No, you misunderstand me. I am not assuming that the driver is the disabled person. Nor am I suggesting that the driver should not stay in the vehicle while the disabled person does the shopping. I am simply saying that it is surprising that a large number of drivers stay in the vehicle while parked in a disabled bay. I would say that often over half of the vehicles have a person in the driver's seat.

Certainly at my four closest supermarkets, there is plenty of space for them to drop off the passenger, park in a normal space and then pick them up, without taking up a much-sought-after didsabled space.

I don't know - maybe they are just exercising their right to use the space?

Okay I understand what you mean, I just saying there are some reasons why its genuine for example

I park in town with disabled daughter and mum. Go shopping I return to car early to drop bags off.

If its just me and OH we park at far end of store and walk. Only time I use disabled badge is when daughter is with us and go into shop or into town. Funny enough just done that 40 minutes ago but we all went into shop and parked on a street with blue badge displayed (it had a on street meter). She cant walk far and needs assistance as she often falls

I wish people who stop abusing the spaces, many of us could be disabled one day and may need it ourselves, like I said I only use it when she is with us, something does need doing about the abuse
