Soappie – when you mentioned what had happened I have to admit I googled it and found that article and wondered if it was that. Despicable!

    Me too! Awful and unforgivable.

Hi everyone, been quiet on this front, son came home yesterday to tell me a year 9 boy snatched his clip on tie and ran off with it, son searched for it around the school and the lost property office but could not find it (it did have his name ironed on), then later the same day the same boy tried to snatch his keys which were on a chain on his trouser belt loop, but to get the chain off the loop you have to press the clasp together, so he didnt manage to get it. The school asked me to send in money to get a replacement tie, we have a spare one for in the event of my son LOSING it and not having it pinched by a pupil, in school time on school premises, i told them i am not sending him in with another tie, the incident happened on their premises and as far as i was concerned it was down to them to either
    1) Get the tie back from the boy that took it
    2) Get the boy to buy another to replace it
    3) Let the school replace it

Needless to say i didnt get much flying done as i started my placement for my teaching assistants course on tuesday, will post when i get some done x

    (((hugs))) pigpen

Didn't get to the gym as I woke up with a migraine... texted personal trainer only to discover she's on holiday this week anyway!

Greenbee, Ive just seen these and they are absolutely gorgeous. what are they made of?

    They're made of sugarpaste.

I'm currently trying to make my dad's birthday cake. It's on the board and crumb-coated, but I need the ganache to set a bit more as it's chocolate which is a nightmare with white icing (not very sensible of me!).

I've got a grubby bit of old icing to practice modelling with, but my attempts at making a boat aren't working very well at the moment. I think I need something to look at to work out the proportions and how to do it! He may end up with a plain iced cake (well, I'm trying out making waves on it, so he might get a glittery sea!).

Ordered my dad's birthday present (I had a flash of inspiration last night and have ordered a replacement for the ancient swatch he used to wear for sailing and which "vanished" this summer - he and my brother are both brilliant at losing their belongings!) so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow morning.

I did manage to get the kitchen relatively clean before starting, but it will be a sticky mess by tonight.

Landscaper called at 9am, said they'd call back in 20 mins. Haven't heard a squeak since

Better go back and keep working on this cake then!
  • Pigpen.... Huge ((HUGS)) hun. Such a tragedy.

Well, we are back from nursery. We had to stay with them today, DS2 was really clingy at first even tho he knows most of the staff(the nursery is in the same building as the creche he goes to), but he did eventually decide it was more fun to go and play. Tomorrow will be the killer, we can leave them but he doesnt want me to. but I have to because I have a course to go on (in the same building, they will know where to find me if he REALLY needs me). I'm hoping he'll be fine after the initial drop off(he is in creche).

Flying.... done none yet. Going to make some dinnner then off to my arts and crafts course this afternoon. Will fly when we get back... I promise!
