What way does getting out of a contract early work?

    I think what I could do is, sell the phone and use the money to pay off the contract, I'll only be down about £50 or so

    If you could do that thats fantastic, i was guessing you'd be down alot more than that!

    Assuming its an 18 month contract, what you can do is sell your phone, keep your contract going and after 11 months downgrade your t-mobile contract to the lowest possible, then repay the rest off at the lower rate.

    Thought I saw some thread saying t-mobile no longer allow downgrading of tariff.

    had a wee search and your right, changesd there T+Cs

    T-Mobile changed their T&Cs last October. You can no longer downgrade to a lower price plan till the end of you minimum term. So if say you start on Flext 50 to get a free phone you will have to stay on that till the end of your contract. T-Mobile IMO are rapidly getting as bad as 3 for CS and changing T&Cs.
