Moshi Monster - no agreement

I need some advise please on consumer rights?
In March my children asked for membership to Moshi Monsters (an online game). For each case I keyed my debit card details and waited for confirmation of membership. The kids got their membership and I forgot about confirmation of membership - nothing was ever recieved.
6 months on I realise that Moshi Monsters have been debiting my account each month. As far as I'm concerned I have no agreement with them. I received no acknowledgement, no receipt and no rights to cancel. To prevent further funds being collected I have stopped my debit card.
As far as I'm concerned I authorised two one off payments and did not sign up for regular payments. What are my rights? What can I quote in a letter of complaint? As far as I'm concerned they can keep the first month's payments but I want back the repeated payments thereafter for which there is no contract for.
Do credit agreement rights apply in this case - surely I should have been presented with something in writing confirming the agreement and a 14 day cooling off period?
Any advice on how I go forward with lodging a complaint and qouting my rights would be much appreciated. At the end of the day its £60 which I think is too much to have paid without a formal agreement.
Many thanks

I guess you didn't consider reading the T&C's at all before offering them free access to your bank account??
http://www.moshimonsters.com/membership/termsMind Candy determines the prices of memberships currently at Moshimonsters.com and reserves the right to change them from time to time.
So you have agreed they can take however much they feel like taking from you??Moshimonsters.com memberships are non refundable and non transferable.
So you agreed that you will not be able to claim any refunds at all??All Moshimonsters.com membership packages automatically renew to ensure uninterrupted service.
So you agreed that they can keep on taking money from you whenever they feel like it????
Your argument is with yourself for being so crazy as to willingly authorise free access for the site to dip in and simply take money from you!!
I can't even see the fees listed so you have given them an open checque book to take whatever they want to!!!
Good luck to you but please learn a valuable lesson about online security!!!!
Cancellation options on the T&C's page I have linked to (I doubt very much if it is straight forward though)
EDIT
I see the fees, it seems quite clear that today they will take an immediate payment of £35.40 per annual membership.
Of course they have also said it can change whenever they feel like it.Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling0 -
Membership expiry
All Moshimonsters.com membership packages automatically renew to ensure uninterrupted service.
You didn't read this bit either, you signed up for 1 month membership, which will be automatically renewed on expiry, which means they will continue to take £4.95 every month, per account, until you cancel. By accepting these T&C's you have given them permission therefore these are not unauthorised payments.
I'm afraid you haven't got a leg to stand on, next time your children want to sign up for online games make sure you read the T&C's properly first.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Why is every other post like this?
I signed up for something, I keep getting charged I didn't bother reading the T&C's, it's so unfair blah blah blah blah blah...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Hey OP, tell you what: send me your card details (don't forget the security number) and I'll sort it for you, no hassle.

Bwahahahahahaha. Why pay for online games when so many are free?0

My wee boy plays on Moshi Monsters but we don't pay for it. This must be some sort of upgrade like Club Penguin? My kids did upgrade to Club Penguin for 6 months and then I stopped paying it as I couldn't afford it. They are happy to play on the normal site now. I'd agree with other posters there are loads of safe free games sites for kids, see if any of their pals or their parents can recommend any.0

Thanks Robert for taking the time to read the T&C which obviously I didn't.
I've have already cancelled my card so no further payments can be collected. So I not going to bother jumping through their hoops of a cancellation procedure.
Whilst I have been purchasing on the internet since internet trading began this is the first time I've been drawn in by an outright deception.
I will persist in making a complaint. My grieviance is there was no receipt nor contract which I assumed I automatically get on making the first payment - as you would get with most other online purchases (Amazon, eBay, Paypal).
In my opinion the scam includes the payment collection company Click and Buy as they sent no correspondence to me either confirming a payment agreement.
So, lesson learnt for me. I hope other people reading this posting if they ever search for Moshi Monster will benefit from my experience.
Thanks again0 -

NO NO NO NO NO!
They can't "collect" any more payments, but they can add them up, then send a debt collection company to chase you for the money, and you'll then have to pay the debt collection fee too...
You MUST write to them (recorded delivery) or at least email, stating that you wish to cancel the contract. Until you do this, you are liable for the monthly payments.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thank you for your recommendation. I've already emailed them clear instructions to cancel and made my complaints about lack of contract requesting a refund etc. The interesting thing is the company write emails in the manner of a Moshi Monster wishing you a Happy Day - its a complete joke!0
