Right.. i do have too many make up and shoes.. but clothes, no ! i used to be a size 8, before having my daughter and kept all of that till one day i decided to give everything away.. i was left with 2 boxes of clothes.... 4 jeans, 6 skirts, 8 vests, 4 t shirts one new coat... and just now i started buying things again.... SHOES !! and the clothes that i buy now, has to fit me and be flattering....Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0

i did have a lot of clothes but then lost weight and now have no clothes that fit lol me and 2 of my friends are all osing weight. I give my old clothes to one friend, My other friend gives me her old clothes that no longer fit her (but that now fit me) and she gets her clothes from one of her friends lol
i tend to go through my wardrobe every 6 months. If theres something in there that i havent worn in the 6 months then my friend gets it0 -
My excuse is that when you get to 'a certain age' your weight can really fluctuate, so I need a selection of different items and sizes depending on whether I'm trying to diet or having a 'let everything go' mood. Pretty poor excuse really but at least once a year I do have a turnout for the charity shop.0

I sorted my wardrobes out and gave several bags to the charity shop. However they seem to be filling back up again. I'm going to cut down my clothes spending at least by half from now on though, as I know I won't be able to stop all together.0

My OH has started hogging the wardrobe with his three shirts and 2 jumpers, he's soooo selfish!! :mad:0

For the record, I have half a double wardrobe (well, 60%) and three drawers full of clothes and toiletries. I think that's enough. I have heard of a friend of a friend who had four double wardrobes to herself.
I have 2 double wardrobes and 2 large ikea draw units of clothes, 1 double wardrobe full of shoes (I was imelda in a previous life!) and around 20 coats which are in the hall cupboard as I cant fit them in my room!
I did have more but I recently gave an overflowing bin bag of clothes (some still with tags on
) to my mum who takes out what she wants/fits into and passes the rest to charity shops. Worst thing was, the stuff in the bag was everything from size 6 through to 14 so I know it didn't all fit me as well as it should
On the plus side.....I dont have an other half to nag/moan/supress my shopping habits!! Although the ex does comment on additions to the collections when he comes over...."You've got another pair of boots?" "You've been shopping again haven't you?"
I am on first name terms/xmas card lists with 3 different courier drivers and our postie :rotfl:
What most people are surprised about with my stuff (apart from the sheer qty!) is that its all in a specific order....does anyone else organise their wardrobes in colour/style/size/etc order??
My shoes for eg, are all in boxes (with photos on the front) and ordered in colour, then heel height. Its slightly ocd but they have to be in the right place!
I think I may have too many clothes
But I do wear most of them!! 0 -
i have (according to OH) tonnes of clothes and he often dreads a night out with me as i stomp about huffing i have NOTHING to wear.
when in fact i have a triple wardrobe full to the brim (i genorously gave oh the top shelf which houses all his clothes:D), and a huge built in mirrored wardrobe full as well. i also have an 8 drawer chest full and a five drawer chest full, oh occupys one drawer from the smaller chest for socks and underpants.:p
i organise my wardrobe too, long sleeved tops, short sleeved tops, going out tops and then dresses. in the other wardrobe i have pants and jeans with the odd coat squeezed in (my coats are kept hung up under the stairs (around 14 of them:o).
im not really a shoe person as heels kill my feet but i have alot of ballet pumps and gladiators. i have around 7 pairs of boots (flats or `cowboy` sized heel max)
i have a gorgeous pair of gold wedges, with beads and diamantes embroidered onto the wedge, they are to die for. i cant walk in them but still bought them, went out in them once and took a pair of gold pumps with me in my bag and had to change them in the first pub as my feet were already killing.:rotfl:
oh refuses to go shopping with me and cant understand how i can spend a full day in town shopping.0 -
I'm quite good at clearing out, I hate clutter and unworn clothes! I have one and a half closets (OH has the other half!
), two top shelves, two 'floor spaces' for shoes and two and a half drawers. That sounds a lot! Oh and three coat pegs .
But I do wear pretty much all my stuff on a regular basis, except posh dresses obviously. I tend to go mad every 6 months and purge my collection, putting the nice stuff on eBay, saving bits for my little sister I know she'll like and the rest goes to charity. I took three bin bags on Friday.

I've just been through my wardrobe this afternoon. Made a pile of summer clothes to be stored away, a pile of things to be folded & stored on shelves & a pile of stuff to wear this autumn & winter. Didn't bother with a charity shop bag as thought with all the scrimping & saving I'm trying to do at the moment, there'd be nothing spare to go off to charity. I wouldn't have said I had that many clothes but after trying things on and putting stuff together in outfits and (this one's the killer!) removing everything I don't feel good in, I soon found I'd got more than enough for a charity pile and went on to fill an enormous bag. I think I must have been in denial about how much stuff I'd got & what I realistically need! I did used to buy a lot of stuff before I started being better with money.2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
I decluttered my wardrobe a couple of months back after I finished uni because I was sick of wearing the same thing all the time and wanted to have nice clothes for work, but I have by and large replaced a lot of it. However what I wear now is much more diverse than my old wardrobe ever was!
I would say I do wear most of my clothes though, but I tend to go in cycles with them - I'll go through a phase of wearing one thing a lot, then put it into 'storage' for a little while when something else becomes the favourite outfit. I normally either hold out for the sales or try to only buy classic pieces that will go with lots of different stuff."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
