Do you have too many clothes? And do you wear them all?

Too many clothes here too, I don't wear some of them and like others I have a range of sizes in my wardrobes. I have had a couple of big clearouts but I could lose more stuff and not be short of something to wear...and please don't mention toiletries at all....0

I have to declutter regularly as we live in a one bed flat.
I go through our clothes twice a year and I am ruthless. If its in decent nick and we haven't worn it for a year, it goes to a charity shop.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
Well I used have too many clothes I didn't wear until I embarked on the project to sort things out a few months ago! This is one of the threads Katie was referring to
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1746139&highlight=wardrobe+clearance
This summer, for the first time, I have had a small (compared to some on here!) collection of clothes I like, that fit and suit me and my lifestyle. It has actually been a very liberating, time and money-saving experience in the long-run!
Like Katie, I too gathered together my toiletries stash and since last Christmas have saved a fortune by working my way through it instead of buying stuff.. There are some threads discussing this too on this board if anyone fancies making a start before the stash gets furthertopped up with Xmas 2009 goodies!0 -
I'm in the far too many camp as well, although it's not nearly as bad as it was a few months ago. I've lost 4 stones this year and have sold almost all the clothes that didn't fit me any more on Ebay.
I've had to buy a few bits and pieces to see me through (and I'm going on holiday soon so needed a whole new range of clothes for that)as I've gone along but most have these have been picked up in the sales, worn a couple of times and then also sold on Ebay as soon as they get too big. I plan to continue in this way until I get to a size I'm happy with. I'm down from two wardrobes full to just one now...and it's only about half full.
I have so little to wear now that I am forever complaining that I have nothing to wear...OH reminded me that he heard that particular cry even when two wardrobes were bursting at the seams with clothes...but it's good practice for the perfect capsule wardrobe I'm going to have when I reach my goal weight...well, that's the plan anyway but I'll need to tackle my 'can't resist a bargain' problem in order to achieve that!0 -
I have too many that don't fit but I am trying to lose some weight so fingers crossed I will have some use for them again soon lol! xx:DIf I am laughing, then I don't understand!!

Guilty as charged lol. Ive had a week off work which gave me the opportunity to have a clear out. I hate throwing clothes away as inevitably i realise soon after that i couldve worn that! I live on my own but ive got 2 huge wardrobes stuffed with clothes as well as 3 large boxes under the bed of clothes, i wont mention boxes of handbags, accessories, boots, shoes and the list goes on. But what i did find was ive now co ordinated it all, as i was only wearing what i could get hold of (which was usually the last thing i wore as i couldnt be bothered to fight through the mess). The stuff i still like i cant get into ive stored under the bed with my holiday/summer clothes. Its so much more organised, i can see what tops go best with what trousers, jeans etc. I didnt want to do it and ive put if off for 2years but it was worth it. I know it wont stop me buying more stuff but now i will know what i buy will go with what ive got as ive sectioned what ive got eg. jeans in one part, trousers in another etc.0

I am such a clothes hoarder. In the last year I have hugely cut down on the number of clothes I buy,
only buying things that will last, go with what I have etc and have saved a lot of money this way,
however I'm struggling to get rid of my impulse buys from years past...which is insane as most of it doesn't fit and isn't my style.
I do a clearout four times a year, but keep finding yet more stuff

Same here daisybella. Ive just thrown out a red long wrap round skirt i bought 12 years ago and the only reason i kept it was because it was what my boyfriend see me in when he first saw me before we were together. How sweet lol. But it had to go and he was more upset than me (it didnt fit anyway and ive never worn it since 1997 lol. Maybe i should start a new thread of what you cant part with lol0

Ive kept the bra and knicker set that my boyfriend first saw me in ha. It doesnt really fit and its 4 years old now, but its sacred!
I do have too many clothes, although right now i don't because my summer stuff is packed away and i havent got my winter clothes from the loft yet so all i have now is what ive recently bought so im going around in alot of similar bits, i hate it! Makes me buy more which i suppose results in the too many clothes/wasting money scenario!0
