I agree, not sure a bouncy chair is the best way to go. Holly isn't even keen on sitting in hers for more than 5 minutes at a time. When she is a bit older, she might be more interested, but not at the moment. She does love her swing though and often falls asleep in it, but I wouldn't leave her in it too long.
We plan to have Holly in with us for as long as possible in the moses basket, but if after a few months, she has to go into the cotbed in the nursery, it's not the end of the world. We have a good baby monitor though so I think once we get used to it we would be happy with her in the other room. Moses baskets and cribs both have pros and cons. Maybe you could pick up a crib on freecycle or something so you have a choice without spending too much?
I think most people get about 4 months out of moses basket so I am hoping for that. Holly is a very long baby but still has plenty of room at the moment. It's a Mothercare moses basket I have if that makes any difference size wise.
Our pram has a carrycot (which can actually be used as a lie flat car seat too which is handy for long journeys) so baby could sleep in that too (something to consider when buying your pram maybe?). In fact, it could be used instead of the moses basket permanently. It's about the same size though so wouldn't last any longer.
Thanks for that, that has given me something to think about, cos the pram we were looking at does lay flat so baby could sleep in that couldnt he?

Not sure who to blame, but someone was talking about scones the other night which has set me to obbsessing over them (doesn't take much!), so I've made some scones - yum.
Three - it's great to hear some positive news about your sister - hopefully the beginning of a full and healthy recovery.
Kindofagilr - I love flashforward - we recorded it on the hard drive and have only just started watching it - cue marathon tv watching session! I'm really getting into that, Trinity and True Blood - fantastic!
Beenie - sorry to hear about car problems - I always worry that I'm being ripped off as I know nothing about cars. I seem to have come up with an alright solution for now though. My local College have an vehicle section and they are always looking for cars to work on, MoTs, that sort of thing. They only charge for parts and not labour so it's quite a lot cheaper - only downside is sometimes I have to leave the car there for a few days. But I really trust them as they don't charge me if they can't sort it and so far they've been really reliable!

I'm seeing one of the major disadvantages to being single.
Anything to do with cars and people always try and make you feel they're doing u a favour even though they're actually ripping out your eyeballs.
Took my car in for tis MOT yesterday (failed on everything possible) but the brand spanky new battery is dead and won't charge although alternator is fine. Suspicious much?
Am fuming, could have had a car still til the 31st (tax) but no matter how long i drive it for, the battery won't charge and will not start straight after. So the car is going to the scrapyard:(:(
where did u get the battery from , most of car batteries ahve 3 or 5 year guarantee , i would call the place tell them , and get them to come to youDont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0 -
Sorry to keep chipping in!! I managed to paint my toenails throughout pregnancy and had them painted when I went into labour. I used the birthing pool, and the midwife commented to me that you weren't meant to have nails painted in there. She let me away with it anyway, but she was very nice and said she had hers painted when she had a water birth! I actually thought it was more for if they had to operate or something but then that would surely be the same no matter whether you were having a water birth or not?
We were told it's only because if you are in there for hours the polish chips off and ends up stuck to the pool! Nothing to do with Mum's health!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
