  • Congrats to pookie, I also can't wait for the piccys!!
Erin is gorgous, I'm dead jealous.

    Loving the BFP storys.........
In the middle of May I had a pretty major breakdown and was signed off work, pumped with anti d's and anti pychs and offered a hospital bed for a "rest". At that point we had been trying for almost 4 years with no luck what so ever. We decided to take some time off the baby making so I could concentrate on getting well again and boom begining of June I missed my period, OH was convinced that because of the rubbish timing and the irish law we'd made our precious baby. Several tests and 2 weeks past and nothing. Start of July comes and I miss my second period, OH basically has to force me to take the test as I've put it down to being ill and the medication etc. The test only half worked the positive was there but the control line wasn't. OH decides its a yes but we run out to grab more tests to be sure, the whole time I tell him it isn't real and I don't deserve babys etc etc. We buy 2 more from savers for a barginous 99p and rush home. 1 hour and 2 tests later OH finally stops dancing around our flat and we begin to phone the doctor for an appointment.
We have already decided to try for the second pretty soon after this one barring any issues with the rest of this pregnancy or the birth etc in case number 2 takes just as long.

I am loving the BFP stories. Should also add OH and me had been trying since the previous May and had kind of stopped trying so hard since december when we got engaged and decided to get married in the May just gone. So was only half expecting to get pregnant - it is so true that once you stop trying it happens :) well it did for us although the whole trying and hoping to be pregnant didn't really prepare me for the actually being pregnant scenario and was thinking oh not what have we done - now we are going to have to look after a little person and go through labour etc lol

And just to be a bit sappy I signed up on this thread when I was 6 weeks and it has just been so good being able to ask people questions and knowing that other people had/were going through similar experiences/anxieties. Just seems weird it is now 33 weeks later and at any moment could be giving birth to Jr. Thanks everyone so much for being there for me (especially the last three weeks whilst on ML when I would have probably been sooo bored without you all) xxx

Aww fishcake you're making me cry too!!

Keep these BFP stories coming, I'm loving it!!

Karen I've decided that a million letter backlog or whatever it is isn't good for fairy cucpake post. I'm making a batch Tuesday night for a sampling on Weds so I'll do yours then too and the fairies can bring them Wednesday!! Hopefull they won't arrive while you are at the hospital and get stuck in the post office for a couple of days ha ha!!

And our baby was conceived during my "welcome home" from DH as I'd been away without him for a month when I went to my sister's wedding in Australia.

Congrats to Jenny on the birth of Erin, and to Pookie on the birth of Matthew. Well done to you both.

My DD had jaundice and she was fine, she was breastfed too and although it took a tiny bit longer to clear apparently they look at day by day improvement rather than just how long it takes overall iyswim. I only say this as my friends midwife was flapping as it wasn't clear within a week (she was BF too) but my MW who was really pro BF kept coming to see DD until day 15 when she was finally not yellow anymore, and was so reassuring the whole way through, as she could see an improvement each day, she wasn't worried about her.

Wow all this baby talk makes me realise how long I've got to go! ha ha. I know it goes quickly overall but this end of it, it seems an age away! :)

    my BFP stories.....

With DD(16m) We had been trying for 2 months, I felt PG, was being sick every morn but was in denial as I didn't want to get my hopes up in case I wasn't. My mum made me do a test as she was desperate to know!lol! I was only 1 day late, and I had a pack of two tests. they both had really faint lines so I then went to buy a digi one to make sure! When it came back positive, I burst into tears, my mum still talks about how great it was too see! I then went to DH work (he works with my dad) and told them.

With this one, we started trying and then I started being sick 2 weeks later so suspected I may be. Did a test and sure enough it said PG! I was so surprised as I expected it to take longer, but so happy!

Pretty straight forward and unremarkable to any one not in my family :D lol!

Ha ha I had to be a bit more cunning about it as I knew DH might struggle under pressure lol!

I realised I was ovulating and pounced :rotfl:
