Hiya
Kindof I'm not sure I'd take a baby to New York tbh, you must be brave!! It's a real place for walking around and seeing things isn't it, which might be hard? I love NY & was gonna take OH for his 30th next year but he doesn't want to go away without baby (am I really cruel for thinking I wanted to?!) so we're going to go somewhere else instead (pressure's on me to pick somewhere and organise as a little surprise - told him we should just not bother seen as we won't go to NY so I can surprise him). I'm thinking Barcelona?
SJ I'm so jealous your bins have been emptied - on to week 6 now here  Had to empty the bin and take to the skip yesterday - gagorific!!
Wow, mammoth catch up!! Sat at my parents tonight, so far I've watched a cheesy film with my little sis, 'The Game Plan', can thoroughly reccomend it if you don't want to engage your brain for a bitMum's making dinner then I guess I'll go home to my lonely house! OH left this morning for London, will fly out tomorrow and be back Friday, boo work taking him away from me for 3 whole sleeps! Sad really but I hate it when he's not around, especially sleeping on my own
Can't believe it's only a wk til we find out whether we're having a boy or a girl, time seems to have flown since 12 weeks, eek, there'll be a baby here before I know it!
We were meant to go to Barcelona last yesr but couldn't afford it in the endI'd love to go though!
I hate it when DH works and I ahve to go to bed on my own. Even when he stays up later but he's downstairs it's not so bad but if he's not here I don't sleep well.Evansangel wrote: »Ah, i forgot to mention earlier.
Called my MW again, rung for 2 rings then went to answerphone. So i called the matenrity unit to ask when my next appointment would be as i left a message on my MW's answerphone and she didn't get back to me.
And they said they not to sure why she didn't get back to me, and i said "well her phone is always switched off, maybe thats why"
And they asked who it was and i said and the woman went "thats so unlike her i called her this morning and got through" as if i was lying
So she said she'll get MW to call me back Friday to arrange my 18 week appointment. I'll be 19+5 then...
Then my MW left me a message saying that she cut me off as she was driving (fair enough) and if i have an emergency to call maternity unit and not her and she'll contact me friday.
Sigh.
Also, my sister just called. She is locked in her room in her house and the landlady laughed at her and said she cant do nothing until tomorrow evening!!
So my sister is expected to stay in her room for 24 hours without food, water and toilet until the landlady can sort it
If she rang you back I don;t see why she couldn't just make the appointment then?!
And if I was your sister I'd either a) kick the door down, or b) ring and get someone over who could kick it down.
She can't be expected to just stay there for 24 hours. Maybe she should call the fire brigade or something?SJ hope things are OK now, I hate rowing too. :grouphug:Have a dodgy hug!
Can I get involved with Facebook? I'm on it but a bit shy about friend requesting people, if u wouldn't mind it pls let me know!
May have to make a diversion to Greggs tomorrow as need to put some money in the bank...
I'm on FB, I'll PM you my real name and you can then add me if you like
And we have totally made up now thanks
I have to go to the bank too, and I have to walk past 2 Greggs to get there!! Actually, depending on which way I walk I could even go past 3!!0 -
For those ladies who are going to need more generous sizes - i have just recieved my evans delivery.
I dont normally shop there because i am a bit stingy with the cash but i wanted some nice nighties for hosp and some nice knickers for now and judging by oh's reaction they are a hit. The fabric is so lovely too and the knickers fit under the bump. The nighties are not as short as they appear i am 5 foot 4 ins and they come below my knee

She's out now, she has to leave her door unlocked all tonight and tomorrow and she's worried as its a shared house.
The landlord laughed at her on the phone when my sister was getting claustraphobic. Grrr. She's only 17
And i know! I might have to change MW's as i've moved to a new areax

Hi everyone, Im trying a different tactic of posting first then doing a backwards catch up, so hope you are all well in advance.
2nd day of being off work today, got some bits listed on ebay, just made some flapjackand sorted out the box hedges in pots by my front door, they were looking a sorry state!! So feeling quite productive. Also found a mystery shop that I can do this week for £10 so thats a bit of extra money.
Im 36 weeks tomorrow and have got the scan in the late afternoon to check that my low lying placenta has moved, so I will let you know how I got on tomorrow night. I am excited to be having another scan but a bit apprehensive as to what the outcome will be.
Be back soon!! xxBaby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0 -
Well I am logging off now to spend some time with DH before bed
Booboo hope the scan goes well tomorrow, placenta-in-the-right-place vibes on their way to you!
Night everyone else, don't do too much more chatting though please as I'm (definitely) back in work tomorrow so won't have so much time to read and post!!0 -
Evening all
All the things I tried last night haven't started anything yet, although in the last few days the branston pickles have been a lot stronger - I live in hope he/she arrives before the weekend! :rotfl:
Had a really bad day with toddler, think it's a combination of terrible-twos, me being very hormonal & mega tired & him realising something's changing, but I really shouted at him a couple of times today & made him cry! Then I ended up crying as well - right pair we were. Think I need a lot more sleep, usually made of stern stuff & can cope with toddler tantrums, etc., & I know that me getting upset isn't good for bean.
On the feeding subject, I'm hoping to try BF again this time, didn't really take to it with older children, tried harder with current toddler (lasted about 6 weeks) & would like to do it better this time. A friend has lent me a sling, so hoping that I'd be able to feed baby whilst out, like someone suggested earlier. Last time I was given TT microwave steriliser & bought TT bottles, so have bought new teats for those just in case. Bought a Medela Swing breast pump from a lady on netmums, unwanted gift to her so unused, just under half price of the shops - idea is that I can get BF established then express so that DH can feed baby sometimes.
Sorry to waffle girls - had no adult conversation today! :rotfl:
Hope the poorlies are feeling better, labour vibes to those waiting patiently (or not!) like me!Good luck with scan fattybooboo!
lou66 - have PMd you re secret Santa thing.

I'm feeling a little bit annoyed with my boss at the moment.
We had a regional meeting today and one of the other managers spoke to me quietly and said it looked as though I was trying to hide my tummy.... I can only assume that my boss has told her (I know they're close) which I don't think she had any right to do when I told her in confidence and asked her not to tell anyone.
I really can't see how the other manager could have noticed as I'm not really showing and she wasn't sat near me most of the day....plus you've got to pretty confident you're right before you say something like that to someone!!
I have a good relationship with my boss normally and she has been great so far....but I do feel really quite annoyed. I don't want to do anything that could jepordise me in the future either re returning to work on a reduced contract.
TBH I probably wouldn't have minded if boss had told me outright that she's told other manager for whatever reason....just hate the position I was put in.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

Yeah I think slings are meant to be good for discreet feeding. I want to BF too but to be honest the thought of it actually freaks me out a bit! I keep having weird dreams about it too. I hope when it comes to it it will feel natural to me.
Totally agree one of our friends said she didnt like Elliot which annoyed me cos me and OH love it and thats the name we have picked for a boy, so we arent telling anymore names lol
