kindof - I think it's one of those things that if you really wanted to do it you'd find a way to make it work. We're prolly going to Paris for a couple of days in April but that's obviously a lot less complicated than NY! I'm sure loads of people have done it and only you know if you two are determined enough to do so!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Hi Ladies,
Just popped on quickly before I go and pick up some Tamiflu for my husband. We think he has swine flu. I just wanted to ask if anyone else has come in close contact with swine flu and if they were given Relenza as a preventative measure ( I read this somewhere. .) Just getting worried as well as being pregnant I am in an at risk group. Any advice?
Thanks************ Baby born 8th Jan 10************0 -
Also, at 6 months you can take a lightweight buggy to NY instead of lugging a massive one. The plane will store you buggy with the luggage when you board.
Greggs sausage roll, Portsmouth: 78p.
I know that as i once had 75p and really wanted one, i was gutted lol.
Haha, i love the spam pics
I read her thing and accidently thanked her lol. I didn't understand what she meant though0 -
Aww nicoop, hope he gets better soon. I'm pretty sure they stopped giving out treatment as a prevention quite a while ago. Think latest advice is to keep the person with SF away from everyone else, don;t share towels etc and sleep separately.
Hope you manage not to get it0 -
So anyway I went and gave hubby a sleepy cuddle. He's back asleep now. Feel a bit better I think.
Is it sad though that out of my bedroom window I could see our bins getting emptied and I got a bit excited?!
And, purely in the name of market research of course, I think I'm going to go to greggs and see how much the sausage rolls are in Leeds. I just hope when I ask how much they are they don't hand one over to me so I feel obliged to buy one:rotfl:

Ooh, can you pick me up a donut please SJ?!
I don't eat meat so am staying out of the sausage roll debate but I do love Greggs!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Kindof- I personally wouldn't plan to take bubs anywhere as far as NY unless I was planning to stay with friends or family or something. The thing that would put me off is how much stuff you would need to take for him/her. I'm sure it would be perfectly doable though as long as you were super organised.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0

Yeah that is an option, we werent going to use a sling but I thought that would be best for baby on plane, cos I would imagine our arms would hurt holding a baby on the plane for 8 hours?
Aless - Yeah thats true, I am worrying about time difference and baby on plane for that lenght of time now lol, OH might be totally against it lol I havent even mentioned it to him yet
Nicoop - My mam had swine flu and I rang doctor and she asked when I last saw my mam (which was night before) and she gave me relenza but I didnt take it cos I felt fine
EA - thats what I thought just a light buggy
LMAO SJenjoy it cos you are going to eat one lol

EA- don't count on the citrus fruit thing, my SIL craved it so much during both her pregnancies, to the point where she would just be eating lemons! Eeew! And you guessed it, she has 2 boys! Lol!
About taking bubs to New york. I would def rather take them than leave them when they are so teeny, but then again I'm a wimp and still haven't left DD and she is 16 months! Lol! At 6 months you are usually together enough, and in your routine enough that it isn't too tricky to take them along with you. As EA says you can take a tiny lightweight buggy with you, and the sling would be great. Other thing to remember is that at 6 months they will prob be weaning so you might need to take some baby food, depending on what he/ she is eating at that stage and wether you can get similiar. Same if he has formula I guess as it's best to stick to same one I think (don't know though as my DD was BF)
I think you will be fine, it is amazing how easily they adapt at that age. My DD was happy to go anywhere at all with us, we went on holiday when she was 4 weeks, was only in UK though, but a 300 mile car journey!0 -
GISI yeah I see what your saying, It might be a wee bit too far might'nt it?
Its just I went to NY with my mam in Nov 07, I met OH in Feb 07 and we got engaged in Sept 07 and 99% of the holiday I was counting down the days till I would get home and see OH again, I missed him so much it hurt
And I think it would be worse leaving babybean behind?
Maybe I should knock New York on the head altogether and go when kids are older?Debt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)
