Hi Weezl, :hello: just totally off topic but how are you coping with your £90 shopping budget? I want to do this but prob at about £120 a month which I know should totally be do-able but we just can't seem to help "popping to asda" every other day and getting bits and bobs and spending a fortune!

A few pages ago, someone mentioned Hyperemesis, so I dug out the post I wrote for susan on the parent thread, with some research about possible causes etc: here it is, hope someone finds it useful :o;)

    Hi SJ,

I'm a little off target myself at the mo, cos fergie's formula and weaning has increased his spend quite a bit! (must adjust my sig :o)

So we head for 100-120 per month.

I'm a fan of costco and asda, alternate weekends, and I try to cost up our meals in advance to work out what's cheapest. for example: 2 poached eggs on 2x homemade toast is 15p :money: and DH has porridge which is 6p :)

DH takes houmous, lentil pate or cheese sarnies to work which ranges from 4p to 12p. With a slice of HM flapjack 5p or rocky road 10p.

I have HM soup or a sarnie or sometimes a piece of meat with veg or cheese with veg.

I can do dinners from 8p per head (pasta pesto) up to about 65p per head (corned beef hash and HM potato wedges.

My top tips would be home made bread at 16p per loaf :money:

Batch cooking, and constantly looking on old-style to do it cheaper :)

A lot of my recipes are listed on the index on the first post of the 50p a day thread on old-style :)

Let me know if any of that is unclear or you'd like any other help ;)

32B, it would be lovely if you lived nearby, I'd love to come over and chat

It would be great, I'd love to try your Rocky road i've seen the posts about it and your lentil pate(i'm a coward and to frightened to try making it myself lol). And the nosy person in me wants to check out the contents of your fridge :rotfl:just to make sure it's not full of caviar and champagne you understand. lol

Thanks weezl I'll check out the old-style thread! 8p per head dinners are pretty impressive!

I think my biggest hurdle will be getting OH on board. I try to suggest planning meals and he always says he doesn't know what he will fancy tomorrow / next week etc. I might just stop asking him ha ha ha!!

How on earth do you do bread for 16p a load when bread flour costs 75p?! This is where I struggle - I lovvvvvve HM bread but the flour doesn't make it excessively cheaper!

Am raging at the moment b/c had to walk home in pouring rain (had brolly but still go drenched). DH calls me ALL THE TIME to moan about things going wrong but when I was angry about the rain he got mad and said he would talk to me when I was calm. That's just peeved me off even more b/c if I did that to him he would blow his top.
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

apologies I just checked and it's now 17p a loaf- I stockpiled when this was 64p rather than 68p :o:

It makes 4 loaves with free yeast and a pinch of salt.

    HTH :)

No news from Fidget today, hope she's ok! Thats the trouble when someone near to their EDD goes quiet isn't it..you start to wonder if there in labour/had baby :D

Weezl, yeah I thought the MW would need/want to come to my house for a good nose around. I didn't think to ask though- what happens if I went into labour over the weekend before she's been round? Would I not get my homebirth? And it's wierd, cos I had my son 6years ago at home but it was never planned that I'd be having him at home, just kinda happened, so no checks on my house were ever made!

I've been up to doctors again today..and it was open..yay!! Asked the receptionist if they could rush the perscription through for me as it was urgent and she looked at me like I'd just insulted her so I nicely pointed out to her the fact that I'd made a special trip over yesterday for the tablets as I really need them and they were closed and she smiled and said oh right, well if it's urgent we'll have it ready for you for 4.30pm :D heehee. So Ive been back for it and then went to chemist for the tablets, so that's all good.
Bought a couple of nighties with buttons on the front from Peacocks, there not grannified atall and will be handy for breastfeeding. One was £3 in the sale the other £4 :D Think I might go get a few more actually,at that price!
Day 2 of operation eviction here..Ive been on my feet alot today (gravity and all that) Hubbys going to go get us a curry for tea soon, and if he's lucky he might get abit of action later :rotfl:only for the science of it you understand ;)
My weekend will be spent getting everything done in the house so it sparkles so much- when the MW comes on Monday she'll need sunglasses on lol
love my little man he is amazing :j

Do you have a breadmaker Weezl or do you do it by hand?

I made bread a while ago and really liked it but I took some to my mum's and she said she thought it needed kneading more

I have a bread maker, but since my pal taught me a no-kneed recipe I've abandoned the BM in favour of it cos it's just so easy, and I didn't like the hole in the bottom of the loaf where the paddle goes! :)
