    morning everyone

Kelinik my sister had an 11lb5 baby the first time 2 weeks late 2nd was 8lb 4 but 1 week early, no gestational diabetes and the second time round she was monitored with growth scans regularly.
I had gestational diabetes and the first was 9lb 5 3 weeks early, 2nd 8lb 7 although gestational diabetes was diagnosed earlier and I was told I could increase the insulin if I thought I needed too whereas the first time I only increased it when the consultant told me too, it was the same consultant he just said I knew what I was doing - I regularly increased it and at the end of pregnancy cannot eat anything without it sending my blood sugars through the roof.
Also that is a really good low risk result, I had 1 in 75 with dd and an amnio so knew I was having a girl and that everything was fine, with ds it was 1 in 365 which meant I wasnt in a high enough category to be offered the amnio but still thats not low risk imo it was a worry but the scans went well.

Sometimes I have to wonder why I'm going through all this again but then I think of the baby at the end and its worth it. Last time for me though the risk of the diabetes not going at the end is enough to put me off doing it again and there are only so many c-sections I think my body could cope with.

Morning all. This whole annual leave time is a bit weird. After working full-time and having a routine 5 days a week I am feeling a bit strange. Plus I feel like I should be "nesting" but to be honest with you can't be bothered to clean at all!! I have to motivate myself to try and do stuff when I would be quite happy watching DVDs or reading books - is this just me? Anyone who'ss been here has the nesting instinct come in later?

I really have to do something though because I feel so guilty not doing anything all day and then DH comes home to a messy house and cooks dinner (he has said he still wants to cook in the evenings as he is used to it) so I feel extra guilty when all I want to do is relax and unwind for a few days. Plus the ILs are coming Friday so will feel well crap if the house isn't tidy.

So plan today is finish off kitchen. Tomorrow I will do the spare room and the lounge. Then see how I go from there - maybe just try and do most of the work in the morning then have afternoons to sit about... Well I'll see how it goes.

    Sorry for the ramble.

EA I was so cmfortable when I switched to maternity clothes it was wonderful having clothes that properly fitted.

Lou I am definitely there with you on the whole feeling like it is taking ages, but then seeming to go quickly. Can't believe I am 36+3.

Somnium - congrats on team pink :)

Kelinik - yay for your screening test result

I'm exactly the same really Karen. I had a bit of a meltdown last night at OH as I'm feeling quite lost at the moment and I just feel like a burden on him. He was a sweetheart though and I feel a bit better today.

I'm just trying to enjoy my time off, but intersperse it with baking lots of yummy treats for OH and cooking nice meals for OH so he gets some benefit of me being off. I'm trying to do some tidying and cleaning too but I am so immobile it is quite hard.
Well I've come home from work. Feel like crap and I'm so tired. Won;t do me or Tic Tac any good getting stressed out at work.

Just eaten half my lunch that I took with me and brought home! Want a sausage roll now though! Or a cheese and ham pasty! Mmmmmm

Good on you for coming home! Curl up in front of the TV and have a duvet day.

Somnium- huge congrats on team pink. Don't let work upset you- it's really not worth it. As someone else said, go sick if it is upsetting you to the point where you are not sleeping then speak to your manager when he/she is back.

I had the worst night's sleep ever last night. I think it's because I got myself in such a state in the evening, sobbing my heart out about feeling useless and losing my independence. I do feel like that, especially as OH has the car all day at the moment so I am pretty stuck at home, but I think pregnancy hormones made me over-sensitive :o. Still, I feel fairly normal today so I'm going to try and have a productive day.

I've got three of my best friends coming over for dinner on Saturday. I've just emailed them all to say I'm not up to cooking a big meal for all of us (was supposed to be making a big Mexican feast) so we'll be having take-away or eating out instead. Hope they don't think I'm being a pregnancy drama queen, but I just can't produce, and clean up, after a huge meal at the moment, and if I do I'll be too nackered to enjoy their company.

Fingers crossed that csh and squishy are holding their little ones by now :T.
