Benefits being stopped.

If they're sitting on lots of money whether it's yours or theirs, then perhaps that's why benefits have been stopped. Also it's contradicting yourself just a little bit where you say would like to know how my taxes are being spent. But then go on to say As a person on benefits myself who faces a very real possibility of becoming homeless. If they're making you pay taxes when you're in such dire circumstances at the moment, I'd look at your own situation, and let your mum worry about hers. It's admirable of you to care so much about them, even though they've treated you in a bad way. but just go on with your life. If they truely want you to know, they'll tell you themselves, and not second hand.0

Sound like their pension age could be the story. Also, at the moment the DWP are investigating people who have been claiming disability benefits for a long time - so income support, or incapacity benefit - to decide whether they are still unable to work. The letter and form they send sounds very much like benefits are about to be stopped, but with support of GP and other health care professionals genuine claims should continue, I believe that they write to your doctor after you put in the form.
Hope this helps0 -

You'd be surprised what can go on in a family, all sorts of bizarre things went on in mine and none of it with mine or my brothers best interests at heart!
I have sympathy for the OP, i have come close to disowning my mum on a number of occasions, and have been in touch with my dad for a year, 19 years after he ran off with someone else and disowned us completely.
families are not perfect, i would advise the OP to get in touch (on your terms mind, no nonsense!) as otherwise you might regret it. You can always disown them again afterwards if they haven't changed.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

When my dd was taken to hospital, from her nursery, a few years back (she was around 2/3 at the time), her dad got there before me and couldn't tell them her middle name or date of birth, among other things he should know.
Wasn't that he didn't know but rather he was in a flap and couldn't remember. He could tell me it all later!
When I arrived, I answered all they needed to know and the nurse said that's how it usually is!!
Maybe, just maybe, your dad was a bit stressed about you being in hospital?0 -
