can i come out of my fixed dec 2009 deal with bg and go to somone cheaper like ebico0

I have just swapped from Ebico to BG and will be saving about £300 per year on their web tarrif.
While I am whole heartedly for the Ebico stance, the bills were just too high so it's wasted money (we are moderate gas users and low electricity users in a modern house).
You will have to settle your outstanding BG bills if/when you leave BG anyway.
So far BG have been excellent - maybe all the complaints and bad press is actually having an effect???0 -

The complaints and bad press have been going on for years and nothing's changed so far (they still consistently appear second from bottom in Which customer satisfaction surveys). But good luck all the same.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -

Can you really trust anything run by OFGEM who are in the pockets of the energy companies who have been utterly spineless in forcing the energy companies to reduce prices in the last six months or so?"When the Government borrows, the citizen has to save".

I am with Ebico and find their prices very reasonable for a low user.
For whatever reason I was put on 6 monthly billing which I have changed to quarterly.
I was also put on SSE gas even though I switched through the Ebico site. One to watch out for.
I anticipate my next gas bill will state £0.00 for gas and will state 'Equigas' or 'Equidual' on the bill this time if other customers could confirm.
There are tariffs that are cheaper but I am sticking with Ebico for simplicity.0 -
my ebico bill states equigas. i too am really happy with them and love the simplicity of it.
i didnt want to pay via dd anymore, so ebico were the cheapest for gas, and the 2nd cheapest for electric by £16ish.
i too am sticking with them for the sake of a few quid.
simple billing, great customer services.0 -
Thanks for that allan.0

cardew i agree with you about dd discounts, but i prefer to pay on receipt of bill quarterly. just my personal choice.
i use 2250kwh of electric annually and its £295 with ebico, i could get it for £279 with bg paying on receipt of bill.but i hate bg and would never return to them.
if i paid monthly dd i could get it for around £250 per year bg online websaver 4.
as i said just my personal choice, having said that i think i will get my consumption to under 2000kwh this year.
£295 a year how do you work that im paying £1000 plus a year0 -
so what are you paying a month???????
ive just rung bg up and he said im not on the dec 2009 deal and i said i am but he was adement , do they really know what there doing , he said im paying for gas at £35 a month and electric at £29 a month but im £200 in debt with gas and the same in lectric , ive upped my dds to £50 for gas and electric £50 just to catxch up with myself , he said i was on the standard tariff , as soon as this is sorted im changing , like i said we have not had the boiler on much in fact its been off since june and the debt hasnt come down much at all in my quarter statements:mad:0 -
