  • How many tracks should be available? I've just got back and can only see the five that were there before I went away.

Well as the title suggests - 44 songs [altogether].

The Pumpkins are issuing a 44-song work one at a time, for free, with 4-song EPs being made available as the songs are released.

According to their website there should be a couple more tracks available around November 23 - "The Fellowship," "Tom Tom" and an unreleased B-side track "Cottonwood Symphony." should hopefully be available too. These songs will also be available on their new EP TEARGARDEN BY KALEIDYSCOPE VOL. II "THE SOLSTICE BARE".

TEARGARDEN BY KALEIDYSCOPE VOL. II "THE SOLSTICE BARE" marks the second EP to emerge from the band's in-progress 44-song project TEARGARDEN BY KALEIDYSCOPE, from which songs are being released online, one at a time for free.

The first EP box (4-song CD and 7” vinyl) is titled TEARGARDEN BY KALEIDYSCOPE VOL. 1/SONGS FOR A SAILOR which was released in April.

Check The Smashing Pumpkins website for more info.

Hope you had a nice two weeks away Sarah.

    Enjoy the music!
  • Thanks for the info. I thought that there should be more tracks. I'll just have to keep checking the website. I do like their music.
  • I'll try and update this thread whenever I spot new tracks on the Pumpkins website, though if you spot any before I do please feel free to post them on here as well.

    Thanks

This was announced yesterday on Spin.com.
Billy Corgan is back in the news -- and this time it's not for dissing Pavement frontman Stephen Malkmus. "Tom Tom," a new Smashing Pumpkins song from the band's massive 44-track project Teargarden By Kaleidyscope has leaked online. Listen below!

The song was scheduled to drop Tuesday, November 22, but an unidentified culprit posted it to YouTube first. But that doesn't mean Corgan is !!!!ed off. The Pumpkins promoted the track on their official Twitter page, while Kerry Brown, Teargarden By Kaleidyscope's producer, took to his blog to do the same.

You can listen to other Teargarden tracks here.

What do you think of "Tom Tom"? Tell us in the comment section.

    LISTEN: Smashing Pumpkins, "Tom Tom"
Smashing Pumpkins - Tom Tom + Lyrics

Other songs from the new EP that might be worth listening to in the meantime are:

The Fellowship (not yet available as a free MP3 download)

    And

Teargarden Theme (not available as a free MP3 download)

It appears that "Teargarden Theme" won't be available as a free MP3 download as this is a vinyl bonus track that's included in the box set Teargarden by Kaleidyscope Vol. 1: Songs for a Sailor and hasn't been released as an MP3. Appears to be the same with "Cottonwood Symphony" from the new EP Teargarden by Kaleidyscop Vol. 2: The Solstice Bare.
  • I like the track. Can't wait to download it.
    All the best x
  • I've a nice surprise for all you diehard Pumpkins fans; will post this tomorrow when I update this thread. :D
  • Well it appears Smashing Pumpkins haven't updated their website so no sing of new track uploaded on there. Maybe tomorrow.

    And as promised, see below:

MACHINA II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music

MACHINA II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music is an album by The Smashing Pumpkins that was released for free on the Internet on 5 September 2000.

A sequel to MACHINA/The Machines of God, it is the sixth album from the Pumpkins, though there are many fans who remain ignorant of its existence because it was never commercially released. It consists of three EPs full of B-Sides and alternate versions, and one LP being the actual album.

Check it out at Archive.org as there appears to be quite a few audio files ready for downloading (14 altogether). Audio file formats include Flac, Ogg, Vorbis, 64Kbps MP3, VBR MP3, etc.
  • This is great stuff, amazing to see a band of this status offering free downloads of otherwise unobtainable material. Thanks OP.
