Teargarden by Kaleidyscope - that is the new title of The Smashing Pumpkins' upcoming 44-song album that will be released in EP segments.

And it's completely free

Tracks so far include "Song for a Son", "Widow Wake My Mind", "A Stitch in Time, "Astral Planes", "Spangled", "Freak", "Tom Tom", and a special thanks to tboo for pointing out the following two tracks: "The Fellowship", "Lightning Strikes" and their tenth release "Owata".

Will update you when next free download is available.

  • Quote from Planet Sound on teletext for full information:

"Smashing Pumpkins are to guive away new album Teargarden by Kaleidyscope free via smashingpumpkins.com. Each of the 44 songs will be availible one song at a time, with the first ready at the end of October. A box-set album, which is based on the tarot card The Fool's Journey, will then be released."

Anyone waiting on the site right now may have a bit of a wait to download if the above music news is correct! But on the upside if it starts at the end of October it will essentially be like an advent calender for us Smashing Pumpkins fans - who needs chocolate in Christmas shapes with a brand new song a day for free! (Okay, I'd like both the song AND chocolate!)

  • Thanks Plushroom!

I'm not a Smashing Pumpkins fan but one of my brothers is, I emailed him this and will pass on what you've mentioned.

    Thanks again
  • Excellent! Thanks Lugh_Chronain, the Pumpkins rock.

And a Heaven in a wild flower,

    And Eternity in an hour.

  • If you spot the first track for downloading do you think you could post it on this thread?

    Thanks

I sat there searching the site for about 15 minutes before readin Planet Sound on teletext's news on it - felt a little silly but no harm done! Just have to remember to keep checking back in October as Planet Sound gave no particular date.

  • Any news on Smashing Pumpkins' free downloads? I can't seem to see anything on their website regarding this.

As it's only 2 weeks left in October I thought I'd post this as a reminder.

I'm also guessing you'll need to be a signed in as a guest or member to be able to download these songs. Though I did spot this on HUKD. Despite this, I can't be sure how to go about downloading these songs.
  • Update: First new song coming soon! - Billy Corgan has updated SP.com on progress in the studio. Expect "40 months" of new music!

Currently The Smashing Pumpkins' are in the process of completing the 3rd mix (of 4 total) of what will be the first ep for Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. Yay!
  • Smashing Pumpkins first song has been released!
  • Cool, Thanks. Just another 42 to go...
