Poor guy.
I had been wondering where brit had gotten the passion for the large point size, bold, red and black text from...
I suppose that imitation is the best form of flattery in this instance.0 -

£200,000 by STR-ing at the wrong time back in 2005.
Priceless.:D
Looking at many of the comments on there, we got banned for less. What a difference a few months makes.0 -

I imagine this explains why you spend such a long time alone on the internet.0 -
Nice one Hamish. Thanks for highlighting another persons misery after they were brave enough to follow through their thoughts with action.:D:rolleyes::p:mad:
I too have had a damn good belly laugh at them. FOOLS!!!:j
And whats better!? They now can't afford a roof either! :T

Hmm - I'm not especially worried about the STR lot to be honest. If you take a gamble like that, essentially shorting a market, you have to be prepared to lose. Most of them seem to be talking about localised areas in London anyway. I should think prices will head downwards before too long anyway.
I'm more worried about the average Joes ability to access decent property.
Which is why I think Hamish is such a contemptible little creep.0 -
Errr, Graham, would that be anything like the intense schadenfreude about BTL investors going bankrupt or off plan purchasers getting shafted?
Don't recall you making a fuss about that?0 -

come on Hamish be nice... the guy has lost money, you should be happy or even laughing...
one thing you need to do understand is the double standards if it's a HPCer or one of the 'negative type people' in financial difficulty you should really feel sorry for them.
however, if it's a over-extended homeowner or an over-levareged BTLer there are queues of people on here salivating and laughing at them hoping that they get reposessed probably hoping that they'll get a cheap house.0 -

I bought in July 2007 so would lose money if I sold now.
So whats the difference?
For everybodys sake we need a stable market which isnt a lottery gamble as to when to buy and sell. I accept that share prices move quickly. But I am able to smooth out price fluctuatons by buying over an extended period , a house is a singular one off transaction.0
