    How was it rotten?
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

  • Best way to check if it's off is to use your nose!! Meat that's really off and not just brown really makes you gag!

Very true, although steak is best just as it is going to turn...

Not at all, but this is obviously the reason I don't buy any meats from supermarkets :D

I'd rather pay a little bit more for something which is a) going to last b) not full of added water, emulsifiers, fillers etc and c) I know where it came from...

I was brought up in a family of butchers; came home from school many times to find half a cow on the kitchen worktop ready to be dissected :D

I'm not trying to have a dig at anyone and say they don't know what they are talking about, but I was just making the point that if steak is brown, it doesn't mean it's rotten, where as if it is green, then you have rotten meat...

The OP doesn't make any reference to any bad smells, which you'd think they would if trying to dramatise their post...
