hi all, here I am! Just had a weekend away with a bunch of friends which has been very relaxing and now a few more decisions made so have to get on and tell people. Feeling dead happy about it all at the moment, just wish there was a bit more money coming in!!

  • Well, welcome to all the new October brides to be!! :j

Since my last rather depressed post, things have moved on. Thank god. OH has decided on his best man, or should I say woman. He asks her tomorrow which is about flippin' time if you ask me. Just need to decide what she's to wear?!

Plus, ordered my wedding shoes today (shhh, already had a pair but was naughty and looked for some more).

Booked time with my adult bridesmaid (she's a busy lady) to measure her for her dress.

I'm currently keeping an eye out for rings but don't really like any I've seen so far. All too diamond-y.

Well done to all those who are well on their way (and hunnycat who seems to be way ahead of us all). :D

Awww, my sisters hubby had a female 'best man'. :)

I have had loads of dramas over wedding rings but finally decided, i want simplicity. If nothing else, it will remind me of how things 'were' in years to come. I am looking at 10k WG 6mm or 7mm for H2B and an 18k WG (same as my e-ring) band in 4mm. Managed to cost it up to about £300 if i go for the 'risky' but ultrasaving option of ordering online. otherwise, its still under £1k with the more 'reputable' (but just as cheap quality) high street stores.

I loved the idea of getting a ring made but perhaps that is for an anniversary some years down the line after we have made our business a success.. :)

Had a magical day yesterday.. Me and H2B actually cracked on and started to make our wedding invites.. TOGETHER!!! him being all bored of wedding talk, actually sat down and cracked on. We are just over halfway thru and I can do the rest myself if i have to but its been nice sharing. :) He is working today and tomorrow so i probably WILL end up doing it myself to finish off but its great we have shared some of the work. :)

I also received the mats that i will be puttingin the middle with teh centre piece. It is covered in snowflake designs but is teh perfect colour and i am hoping to pass off as stars but reaalistically, I am not that fussed anymore. I just want to make sure it all comes together in the end.. having a few freak out moments every now and then cos of work being slow etc but i am confident most of teh time that it will all pick up and we will do great. :D

Lets keep ourselves motivated girls.. (and guys) only just over five months left for some of us.. approaching six months for others. :)

  • We're getting married on the 16th October 2010, so far i've:

    Brought my dress
    My shoes
    My ring
    Given notice at registry office
Put down a deposit with the Holiday Inn in Gloucester
    Paid for flowers
    Put deposit down on photographer
    Brought disposible cameras
Got invitations for day and evening
Got poem kindly asking for money instead of a gift

My dad is sorting out table decorations, and the cake
My mum is kitting out the bridesmaid and flower girls, and paying for the registrar :j

Things are going quite smoothly (touch wood)!! After buying h2b's ring, my undies and kitting the boys out in their suits there isn't really going to be anything left to do. :T
To be honest i'm not really enjoying planning this wedding its just a massive headache.

  • God 24 weeks!! When you say it like that its really frightening lol.
Tomorrow i'm going in to town to get my h2b's ring (he's so fussy), and i'm also going to get my wedding undies (blush - lol) I think i'm gonna get one of those new strapless wonderbra gizmos (really don't want to be having to hoick my dress up all day).

Also - have you guys actually booked hair yet??? My regular hairdresser is booked on my wedding day, but has said that if within the next 2 months she gets a cancellation, she'll pencil me in. Which is great, but i'm starting to get a little nervous. I've found another hairdresser who will charge £5 more for the trial, and hair on the day, and i really don't know if i should just give up on my regular hairdresser and just book this other one. Have any of you had hair trials yet, when have you got them booked for??? Do you think i should wait it out or just give up and book this other hairdresser??
  • Well, so far. Still no best man/woman/person of any kind. Think OH had a a bit of a "to do" with the person he was going to ask so the teddy went out the pram. :p

Booked an appt for the flower lady. Mum's coming with me as OH has no clue about flowers other than "I like those big red daisies". Gerberas then.

    Oh well, still going....

    Hello all,

I've been lurking on the board since my H2B proposed on valentines day, but we set the date this week - 9th October 2010!
I've got some catching up to do, starting to think about dresses and invites and need to give notice soon.
We're trying to keep things small (despite the best efforts of both mothers) so hopefully the 22 weeks won't be too hectic!
