  • My goodness you're all so organised. We decided on valentines day to set the date and now church and reception all booked for 2nd october. i have my dress and bridesmaids dresses from when it was booked in 2005 but that's about all i've done. my mum's sorting out decorating the room, future mil is doing the flowers, my auntie is doing the cake and oh's uncle is doing our photos for free (and he's a professional - lucky us lol). Our whole budget is £3500 so going to be very MSE!!

Possibly found two bridesmaid dresses for OH little sis (who at 13 is now 3 inches taller than me and having a growth spurt like your daughter Franny) and my adult bridesmaid who is miles taller than me (but at 4"11, who isn't taller than me?).

    Oh well. :D

I have threatened to chop her lower legs off if she grows anymore, it was about 3 inches too long when I bought it back in Sept, its now just okay and more growth and thats a flipping dress going spare to go with the surplus bolero! That will teach me for getting it too early :o
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:
  • Ordered samples of the two invites I'm stuck between (well, not really. I like one waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy more but its more expensive). :o

Found a couple of bridesmaid dresses i like too. Now to ask the girls....

  • I received one of my samples today for the invites - the ones I REALLY liked and was so utterly disappointed with it. The mounting wasn't straight (so much off that my male colleague noticed it the second I opened them), the cutting on the borders was wonky, no capital letters (that one may just be me). It has really put me off. I know they're only samples but I dread to think that all 100 would be like that. Am I jumping the gun?

Maybe the other ones, my originals will be nicer....here's hoping.

On a plus note, my older bridesmaid likes the dress I've found. Woo. :T

  • Hello all,

My lovely other half proposed to me on Tuesday (23rd February) which was my 25th birthday. :D

We've decided on 30th October for the wedding but now I have the total fear as I only have eight months to get everything sorted. I've had an idea for a venue and tried to email them for a quote but as yet no reply.

I'm in a big swirl of ideas, wondering whether I want a sit down meal or a buffet or maybe afternoon tea. Then I start thinking do I want a Halloween theme, autumn or maybe something else entirely.

How on earth do you make all these decisions?!

However, I am totally thrilled to be getting married to my lovely young man.
