  • omgosh you have to have a new crb?! what a pain!!! i work in education too. it's going to be odd telling the kids that i've changed my name tho most of them call me by my first name anyway, and even odder going to vulnerable childrens meetings and introducing myself with my new name to people who have known me for years!! i see some people once in a blue moon and so it's going to take a bit of getting used to!!

    exciting though!

have got some last minutee presents today for last minute helpers, and all wrapped up now. I'm just about to iron my bridesmaids stoles (crapping myself that i am going to burn them, so i've decided to iron them through a tea towel lol! they don't need to be crisp so i'm sure it'll work!!)

OH is on the phone to his family.. he paces whilst he is on the phone which puts me on edge, and it's even worse because certain members of his family are particularly unreliable and every time he says "oh no" or similar I think... what have they done this time!!!!!! hahahah!

Work said I can wait until it expires as it is only valid until march next year but I have longer on the others so think I need to renew them! Wish we could just have one for everything!

My monster in law tried ringing me yesterday and I ignored the phone call!!! I text the OH to tell him his mother rang she just wanted to make sure everything was ok - we only saw them Monday night - only seen her once since we told her about the wedding in July. I kept telling her that I couldn't tell her things as OH didn't know! She text me just now to find out what my dress is like and what music we having and dropped in that she has seen a swarowski crystal she likes in the shop - it was only £395!!! She will get a shock when she doesn't get anything! We are putting together photo albums for both sets of parents after the wedding! As awful as it sounds her son said if he never sees her again it will be too soon after Monday and I really don't want to spend our hard earned money on someone who moans that she can't afford the wedding between telling us of their extravagant 5 course meal on Sunday and their all nighter they are going on on Saturday! That woman is the bane of my life!!!! :(

Missknixon, don't apologise for needing to have a bit of a rant - that's partly what this board is here for, to vent when stuff gets a bit much :)

I'm sorry that your MIL is such an unbearable pain in the a!!e - take comfort from the fact that your H2B is wise to it - so many aren't, and the bride just gets caught in the middle.

  • we gave our parents a tree each. we used them outside the church at the entrance as people came in and then stuck them on our bus and used them either end of our top table before presenting them to our parents at the end of the speeches. both have large gardens and we thought it would be nice going there and seeing the tree grow with our love. :) they were only £20 each and will hopefully last.

My mil surprised me at the wedding saying the lovliest things and me and mr. I hope yours stops being selfish and allows this day to be special for you. xx

i am so excited for you all now that mine is over. not that i wasn't before but i can relax about mine and not worry. Just want to say, I had so many things go wrong in the lead up.. the sort of thing i would normally throw a right paddy over but i got to the pint where i kept saying 'as long as i am married by teh end of the day, i will not allow the rest to bother me'. as it turns out, i nearly did have wedding cancleled as i was close to an hour late!! but we are now married and I am Mrs Life :)
sort of things went wrong.. dh's car broke down TWICE the night before- waited over an hour each time to fix it. this menat i was out til much later doing drops to teh hotel etc. i forgot loads of bits. the lateness already mentioned although each and every thing that went wrong turned out to be a blessing in disguise. So many of my friends turned up late and would have missed it had i been there on time. the last guest arrived five mins before me!! the choir (that dh had begrudged paying for initially) kept guests entertained while they were waiting.
just little things but seriously, everytime someone said something was going wrong, i just shrugged it off realising there was little i could do.
I have got a couple of speeches on video but not on me.. they are being uploaded to photo sharing soon.. as soon as i can acess i will try and share bit in teh meantime, here is a quick pic.
Hope you all have an amazing day and look forward to hearing your reports.. xxxx

She might but she won't be sincere with it! She did it to my SiL2b who is her step daughter and then was caught on film 5 mins later slagging her off - 15 years ago you couldn't erase home videos like you do now!

I have made my dad a book - a family joke - my mum will get something nice and I thought about putting some nice smellies on the monsters bed - they live in a static and don't have a bath so she is looking forward to haing a bath! We having a meal the night before with her step daughter and hopefully it will be my chance to clear the air!:eek::eek: and if all else fails warn her that her grandson is my bouncer for the day and has been instructed to ask her to leave if she becomes unbearable! She is a bit of a drinker! ;)

thank you shell. hope your day was magical too. x

Missknixon, oo-er! see, my mil had a small drink but she doesn't drink anywhere near what she used to. hopefully the bath will relax the monsters enough to help them chill out? lol

hunnycat, you look amazing. so pleased your day was so good. even with the lateness (I was an hour late!) and lucky you getting away for a while. i was back at work on wednesday. lol.

i got my first 'official' document yesterday - its only my work pass but its nice to to see Mrs on it. making me feel old though!! lol think the passport and driving license will have to wait a while. will try and sort them before easter but not in a major rush unless we decide to go away quickly or i have to go brussels. doesn't happen that often so not overly concerned.
