  • Morning everyone,

I'm feeling good this morning! I was AF yesterday and I feel WELL! How fab it is not to feel yukky and hungover with a bad tummy! :j

Been doing some finances for February - EEEK, things are going to be pretty tight, so it's absolutely essential I don't fall off the waggon, because I'd be spending money we won't have!

We have a large (large for us anyway - probably not large for some people!) credit card payment which will come out at the start of Feb (we are paying balance off of course, so no interest charged), which was accumulated from spending more during the festive season. So that's a chunk of money we really could have done with, but I'm sure I am not the only one suffering the financial after effects of Xmas and the New Year..................am I??

So getting myself armed for lots of crock pot cooking of beans and lentils during Feb. So I am warning you now about the inevitable fartyflartbart February action...........:rotfl:

Hugs to all and have a great day! Best of luck for AF-ness.

Its something.... I read or saw something about an 'all you can drink' place. people getting two glasses by saying they lost one so they can double up. Seems silly when its all you can drink anyway  The article/report said that within an hour the floor was swimming and there was a constant 5 deep crush at the bar..... nothing I wouldn't have done in my youth, I guess....

It's a start, but the problem as I see it is not with the bars and pubs. they are fairly strict and will refuse people who are incapable (though there are plenty of exceptions, I'm sure)

The article says that 70% of alcohol is sold in supermarkets (dunno whether this just means any licensed shop), I think this is where they need to target. Its the cheap vodka that is drunk before the night out, smuggled in to the pub to top their coke up etc etc that I see as where the real problem is. Make it harder to get hold of either by reastricting the number of shop licenses, or increase the shop price.

Having said that, pubs are dying on their behinds and will do anything to get punters through the door, so what can you do? I think pubs will be re-inventing themselves over the next few years and will get more in line with the continental type places, rather than spit n sawdust drinking holes.

That must be my longest post in MONTHS!!!!! :rotfl:
