    I do agree with Lurks here, it is also a cutting down thread and those that can drink shouldn't be penalised or feel that they are doing something wrong by drinking? Saying that, socially, it doesn't have an impact on my drinking as I'm an 'indoors' drinker. But I think we can all be sensible and even if we aren't, then we've only ourselves to blame, not the people we are with or the situation we are in. :)

    I'm with these two :D ...

    I would especially love to see Mrs Piggy being the garbled rubbish speaking eejit :cool::D;)

    We've got one of those desk diaries in the office with a proverb every day.

    Todays one says 'know your limits.......but never stop trying to exceed them'

    Guess that's not very good advice for this thread huh :confused: :rotfl:

    Just a quick hi today - fell off the wagon spectacularly last night, one drink turned in to five bottles of wine (between three) thank God at least we ate something and had water. Feeling rubbish and sad. I had to call in sick to work and I'm huddled up keeping warm with my laptop.

    I think one of my friends is annoyed with me but can't remember why... it was one of those "no what do you really think of me" conversations, also her sister confided about marriage problems and I sided with her but my friend was outraged... They are all OK today so far as I can tell.

    I think that's my nights out for January all done... oh no - I am out on Thursday at a posh work do and it is imperative that I do not drink excessively. Worried. I want to confide in my boss to an extent but then he will think all the times I have been sick have been due to alcohol and that's not the case. I'll ask my other heavy drinking colleague to police me!

    Might be back later, off to try to cheer up a bit
    Love to all, and can you put me down for the meet-up please? I would love to meet you all.
    xx

    I don't think it matters whether alcohol is 'available' or not. We are a group and for the amount of time that we are together, we can all be sensible and not drink, surely.

    Dunno about that :rotfl::rotfl:
    The 'norm' will be to have a soft drink. i don't think the location and availability of alcohol is therefore relevant

    Agreed, though my post was in response to someone who was saying it would make sense to be AF when we meet up
