    Morning again Fay :)

Eselt, hope today goes okay, hugs to you xx

Just eaten one of 'my' mince pies, totally yum

Doing crap on the AF front  looking forward to Jan 1st when I feel I can draw a line under a strange year. Been most odd.....I've had more AF days than since I was 20 years old (I'm now 37 ), I've been more depressed about my drinking than I ever have. But I have found motivation, sorted out my house and clutter, mind is free'er (sp?) and I feel happier in myself. So swings and roundabouts, I do feel that 2010 will be an improvement, all I need to do it kick the AF'ness into touch then I think it'll be all sorted :D

    Good morning,

Well done everyone. I am still poorly and as I overdid it yesterday I am pondering what would be achievable today. At least need to get BF's pressies wrapped before he gets here.

DD had big breakfast of 2 oatibix, 2 satsumas and jelly (or two?) and after she finished she was shouting that she was still hungry. And then she came to stand next to me and burped :rotfl:Oh what ever will I do with her.

Better go and make a plan then.

PS Jo, you have achieved so much you can be really proud of

Yes thanks Marru, although I feel I'm doing crap I do feel I'm working in the right direction. I don't know what my problem was, was it the drinking that was stopping me finding motivation to declutter and organise or was it my clutter and disorganisation that was making me drink

    Anyway, onwards and upwards.

You said yourself you weren't well yesterday so you shouldn't have pushed yourself :naughty: give yourself another couple of days to recover xxx

Yesterday I tried hot chocololate for the first time since being a kid - yuuuuuuuuuuuum! Very snowy here so going to have a cosy day indoors with hot drinks as treats.

    Anyone up for Sober Sunday?
    xx

Snap I had a hot chocolate last night as well :D Even brought some Marshmellows today from Sainsburys. Talk about busy

Hi all- hope everyone is safe and not too cold. Its freezing here in sunny cornwall.

Am in Hermit mode at the moment as I don't want to be around people in pubs drinking to excess, and thats all my family and friends are doing at the moment-I know people love christmas and quite rightly they have an alcohol blowout, but I can't do that- I know I will never be able to do that again, because it will lead to getting the taste again and for me thats a downward spiral.

Great to hear from everybody-esecially Bis. When I first joined this thread I was a mess, totally alcoholic, lost everything, gibbering wreck, everyone had given up on me as a useless lost cause- but it was posts from people like Bis, GC, Mollyp etc that helped me realised that alcoholics CAN only live without alcohol. Like MP, I always remember Bis's support for 'constant vigilance'- its so true.

I'm going to put christmas flowers on 2 friends graves tomorrow (one was my sons aunty-died 37 14 yrs ago, other is school best friend-died 41 this year) both died due to alcoholism- aunty was so beautiful and vibrant, kind, sensitive, best friend was so funny and lovely and supportive and I miss them both so much. Damn this bloody stuff, it has too much of an impact on peoples lives.

Anyway, everyone on this thread is amazing, self aware and at least trying to get to grips with alcohol. I REALLY REALLY hope everyone has a great christmas, and thankyou all for being the most supportive and nice group of people online.

    Great post :T:T

Sort of feel like I've given myself a 'get out of jail free' card to drink whatever for 2 weeks with the promise of stopping again in Jan. Not that I've abused it yet, but it would be sooooooo easy to slip back to daily drinking and then it's going to be a nightmare to stop those bells clanging in January.

    xx

Me too, GG, although I do want to find two more AF days from somewhere to meet my target for December. I knew I was right to get some chalked up before partying started.

Jo, will we have to start a 2010 thread or will they do it for us? I think you've done really well this year. I know you'd like to wave a wand and be permanently AF but it doesn't work like that does it? I think you're AF days total for the year are pretty impressive.

    'morning YM. Well done you!

Thinking about BHB today as I think weather is pretty bad down his neck of the woods. Lots of others missing gone missing too.

Hugs to you eselt, I'm sure you're doing the right thing for you but I hope you're not too lonely in your hermitage?

Busy day for me today, just having some downtime before hordes (OH's huge family but I'm lucky they're lovely people) descend from 3 p.m. OH has gone to collect DD1 (about 1.5hours round trip) so I have time to myself.

Have a good day everyone. Weather is glorious here, crisp with beautiful sunshine.
  • Yeah the Police turned up but can do nothing due to his age

So as we stand ATM its a bit fighting0074.gifas we are not talking but we never really chatted anyway. She does think we have a camera on our house though as we said we had the incident on tape ;)

She is not the sharpest pencil in the box

You got a mince pie over there I can have :p
